Well, my weight chart looks all crazy messed up, lol... I did not want to record when I was up 1.2lbs, but then I went ahead and recorded it yesterday. Then this morning I weighed myself and found I had lost... so now FS is gonna say I'm losing weight at some ridiculous pace... but I'm not. If anything it's excruciatingly slow... but hey, weight lost is weight lost.

Today I had to work at fish fry for the Illinois Soybean Association or something like that... anyway, the reason being that - we are trying to use soybean oil to replace fish oil in the foods we feed to our aquaculture fish. Now, I know many of you in America don't eat fish (tsk tsk, but to each their own, lol!) but without aquaculture, no one in this world would be eating fish... it's the fastest growing segment of agriculture in the world... ANYWAY I'm preaching here. So, anyway we're trying to show them that the fish tastes just as good, if not better, than fish fed and raised on fish oil. It was a good time, but it was about 3 hours of standing in the 90 degree heat (with like a billion percent humidity too), serving hot food... BLEH SWEATY to say the least...

Will still try and workout later, but standing in that heat made me really tired, and I'm struggling to not take a nap RIGHT this second... but I think I gonna in a bit here anyway.

So yeah. I dunno what I'm feeling. I did eat about 1.5 filets of fried catfish today. I know how much the breading and the fish would be. Now I've got to try and figure out how to estimate the clear frying oil used. Also had about 1/2 a serving of baked beans, before spilling an entire serving tray of beans in the back of my friends truck (flatbed part, hilarious because both of us caused the spill, but ended up being gross and looking like... well barf... after a while)...

Gonna worry about trying to count that later, well, later being later, but before dinner, so I can make good choices. Picked up some locally grown peaches (more of them, this time from SIU campus horticulture, not just a local farm)... got ripped off on the change, by 2 bucks, but eh, whatever. At least with that kind of thing I know that it goes to the club, who uses it usually for things like sending students to conferences, putting money back into fundraising, etc... not like it's just going in someones pocket.

Ok I can't concentrate. I'm too tired. Bleh.

oh,oh,oh...you're killin' me! Fish aren't supposed to eat soybeans...please, please tell me at least that they are aren't genetically modified soybeans on top of that! :)

Well actually the "oil" portion of their food is the "bonding" part of it, basically what makes it stay a pellet... so, if we keep using fish oil, we have to kill all the little fishies at the bottom of the food chain to make fish oil, and then the wild fishies have no food, and if we DON'T then WE have no food... but there are actually a lot of fish that eat plants and vegetable material, so, soybeans were chosen because the oil is a byproduct that we as humans don't use as much of (not the same as the soybean oil that you can cook with, it's got different fatty acids... bleh), but anyway - so, it's not terribly far fetched... it basically goes down to the science of comparing all the amino acids that make up fish oil, and that make up soybean oil, and since that particular thing isn't much different between the two, it's not really... like they're eating soybeans... lol I guess. I don't know if I explained it right, but yeah. :D

I'm sorry. I probably should have just kept my mouth shut. Can't help but hear in my head some of the Food, Inc. movie and my growing fear that Monsanto will end up running the world! Okay, the food chain...I guess what would be interesting would be to find out later what the difference is in the nutritional value of the fish we consume after years of eating engineered food compared to those caught in the wild or even those raised in the conventional manner. I recently read that the food we grow today has more than 35% less nutritional value as far as vitamins/minerals than food grown in the 50's and 60's. And that's only the food components we know of and measure. The whole thing just scares me. Makes me want to grow my own food :). Anyway, you explained it well! Not to worry there.--------------------------------------------------On a great note, CONGRATULATIONS on losing more weight! :) Not bad, considering, right? I think I'm stuck close to where I am right now. I wonder if psychological barriers affect weight loss? Seems like it happens to a lot of people when they're close to some sort of significant number in their head that they want to get below. Hope not. So close...well, to THAT number for me, not to goal. You're getting really close now :)
