Wow, so... my stomach is hurting like crazy. Its the weekend and I have BIG plans to get the house PHOTO READY! Well, at least for what we've done to this point. The plan this weekend is to get totally moved in (we still have stuff in the storage unit, OMG) and unpack everything, arrange all the rooms, fix the paint because the PAINTERS WE HAD HERE SUCKED BIG TIME (I cannot even begin to point out all the stuff they effed up) and then take pictures of the house - round three-ish. I thought I took good pictures but I looked through them last night and realized I didn't take that good of pictures of the HUGE GARBAGE MOUNTAIN we pulled out of the house and garage... and some of them you can't really tell we painted (like the kitchen was white, but it was old white and dirty, now it's brand new white, but in the photo it looks the same, ya know?)

I also want to start painting the kitchen - that's right. I'm going black and white kitchen. I can't find anything like it in the Kitchen magazines, so I'm happy. I don't want to toot my own horn, but if I was given an unlimited budget, I'm an amazing designer. I have good style. It's not "normal" style, it's one of those "You'll have to see it to believe it" things, but once it all comes together it usually looks badass. Like, the paint colors I chose. Sure, it's my first time painting a whole house with my own palatte, and my mother of course, was giving me crap about how dark the colors might be, or if the colors were too much (she's a very neutral paint color person, no brights or surprises for her)... and then, after it started going up, all I heard was "Wow the paint colors look SO GOOD TOGETHER!" "You did such a nice job picking out colors!"... I'm like, yeah I know, I rock. LOL!

ANYWAY back to what I want to do today. So it's unload the storage unit, come back, unpack everything, then clean and find places for the stuff that's here but has no home yet. While we're doing this, make a list of pieces of furniture or other storage things we might need for the house, as well as missing things (like, uh, the main bathroom has no toilet paper holder, and I can see why, there's no good place for one - I HATE WHEN IDIOTS DESIGN HOUSES - and to clarify this, that bathroom is the only changed/updated room in the entire house - built in 1946, so, the people WE bought it from changed it themselves, not the original owners, and the people WE bought it from were idiots... so its designed like crap, the drywall is effed up, etc etc etc.)) so I need a free standing toilet paper holder. It's $13 bucks, and for some reason I cannot bring myself to buy it, LOL. I'm cheap? I dunno.

But then, I want to take the third round of photos. I know there's still a lot to do but it's one step at a time and I can't listen to people coming over and saying "Well there's still a lot of work but it could be nice"... I'm like - hey asshole, you don't even OWN a home, you live in an apartment, I have 3 acres, a pool and a big brick house, it IS NICE"... It frustrates me. Like my friend Brian came over to hang out on a hot day in the pool. All he does is talk about his professors pool (which is in-ground, really nice, mine's above ground, and just - nice enough ya know?) and how much nicer it is, and how we need a deck around the pool because it sucks to walk in the grass to the pool... it was endless, and it kinda hurt my feelings ya know? It's like I invite you over and you criticize my stuff?

Ok I'm rambling. I need to shower and get started here. Bleh!

Oh Lord...no wonder I haven't heard much from you lately. Still so damn busy, girl! :) I, for one, CANNOT wait for pictures! I love a black and white kitchen and I like little punches of red in them, like in the accessories. I'd love to see how you decorate. Your mom probably likes the neutral pallet for resale, but this is YOUR house. So I'm glad you're painting it to please yourself :) And it takes guts to go for that, especially in the face of criticism or concern. I'm sorry about your friend making comments like that. I'm sorry, but what an ass. After we moved here, my brother-in-law and my sister came out from CA to visit. He had the nerve to look at my stuff and make comments - like, If I had these counters (which were crappy laminate at the time), I'd leave them bare so I could enjoy them! Why do you have so much stuff on them? (uh...maybe to help disguise what at the time was ugly, blue-gray laminate countertops??) And he's sitting in the family room looking around and said, You have too much crap. If this were MY house, I'd take it all out to the curb. I mean, really?? WTF! So I say, screw 'em and their stupid jealousy! And the day a house no longer needs something done to it is probably the day it's on the market! There's ALWAYS something :) It's part of the process!------------------------------Go part with the $15! lol.... reminds me of a cool green glass soap dispenser I wanted for my kitchen (which no longer has blue-gray laminate countertops!) and didn't want to spend $15 for it! I've regretted that one since and haven't found the same one. Oh, and I know what you mean. I always walk around my house bemoaning the fact that a man had to have designed it as it doesn't make sense! :) Take care, missed you!

Omg, wow I didn't even get 1/2 the crap on my list done today D and I'm exhausted... It was unpacking the storage unit, then going to the store to get things to store things in, and putting up decorations, unpacking the random-ness that we have left (which stinks), and that's all we did. I'm soooo tired, my feet are killing me. Time for bed! Gonna eat a bit more though, pretty low on calories today, unless I'm forgetting something which I don't think I am...

I feel for you, L! Wow. Especially in this heat/humidity. No wonder you're exhausted. I hope you don't overdo it. I know you're anxious to finish getting your home into YOUR home, but take it easy, girl. Hey...are you as good at organizing as you are with decorating? Because if so, you'll get that whipped up in no time. AND I wanna hire you to come out here and save me from my "stuff"! I'm drowning! And for whatever reason, AZ homes have very little storage!
