Still have not returned to weight lose achieved before binge 2 weeks ago. Today is my husband's birthday. Unfortunately he had an appointment scheduled for today, because that is when he could get in, with his “ top” Mohs surgeon for a spot on his nose. Luckily it was Basil cell and not Squamous which I feared. The doctor is wonderful, and in this case, was going to biopsy it and take care of it in the same appointment. He didn't even need to biopsy it, but knew it was Basil cell right away. They did have to cut twice, and flag it?? where they cut a flap and turn it to fill in but it is beautiful. They did that many years ago at Kaiser before Mohs surgery and it was so big, he was disfigured for a year. If any of you don't know about Mohs surgery for skin cancer, let me tell you I would never have one done without it. They take the cancer carefully out and keep it straight up and divide it into 4 quadrants and check it thoroughly to see if they got it all, and if not can go back into the correct area to take a little more until they get it all. Yes, you have to wait about 45 minutes to an hour in between each "go round" but in this way they don't have to take so much as they used to years ago to make sure they get it all. It is not nearly so disfiguring. Dr. Moy taught this method internationally and was president of their association. There was a lady in the waiting room today, that Dr. Moy has done 14 surgeries on her husbands face to correct the mess that someone else made on her husband's face. My husband did not want to go to a restaurant today with the big compression bandage on his nose so we came home and I made him French crepes but I didn't have any. I have shrimp in the freezer so I will saute them in butter and fresh garlic, and put them on pasta for him. I'll eat the shrimp and salad and I have homemade Ratatouille.
