Fasted 20 hours, ate 652 calories and lost no weight. My body must want to be here. It's okay. Too bad I can't exercise with this new pain in my hip, down my leg that hurts with each step. Read about sciatica, but not the symptoms of electrical shooting pains, tingling, and numbness. I think this is one of my bulging disks getting worse. Yes, I will have to go see a doctor but I am really scared for the future. I know some others with bulging disks are in a lot of pain. In the past, I have been able to control my pain by laying on my side and curling. Will the rest of my life be like this? It's been over a week, and I'm not optimistic it will get better. I do not plan to ever have surgery! I need to read and study about gentle exercise and stretching. Our daughter and husband arrived to stay with us for the holidays. I will study later. I know others have chronic pain but I am really, really scared.
119.1 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 6.1 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Are you in ketosis? The best way to start is to eat plenty of fat so your body fatburns. Hope you can get relief for your pain. If we are in stress the body may not want to let go of anything.

Thank you or your support. I doubt I am in Ketosis yet. It's hard for me to eat enough fat, and actually enough vegetables too, especially kale. I can handle a big mixed lettuce or spinach salad. You were the first one to support me so yesterday I read all your journals to learn more about you. I see you are very intelligent and certainly compassionate to reach out to newcomers and support many other people. Thank you, and yes I am in a lot of stress.

Yeah I see it. Usually I check the me section to see if anyone commented back to me. But these are busy times so thanks for sending the message. Getting in ketosis is not that hard because it is quick (around 3 days) but you have to avoid eating too much carbs and usually if you feel hungry have a fatty treat. After a few days you will be there. Once in ketosis it is easier to get a benefit out of IF. But all that said maybe not stress with ketosis till Christmas celebrations are over. Have a really good Holiday!!!
