59Carol's Journal, 24 October 2018

There! I have inched down a half pound. One more pound to go to get to my lowest weight. Yesterday when I did perogies with my daughter for my grandson's Ukrainian Dance Club, I got to the perogy making location just in time for lunch. They had homemade perogies along with slices of cheese, sliced sausage, chili, two kinds of loaf cake, etc. I did not expect that. Good news! I very carefully ate very small amounts of the things I chose. I tracked it when I got home (very high calories despite my intentions!!) and then made sure supper was light and in the zone. So the weight loss was well deserved and could have been a miss!

Today I see my doctor. Last time I saw him was 8 weeks ago and I was 10 pounds more. He gave me the weight lecture. He is a 'new to me' doctor as mine retired so I am still 'breaking him in'! I did tell him that I was well aware of my weight issues, I have a history of being able to take the weight off in a healthy way and I was now getting on it. He was skeptical to say the least. I took a deep breath and told myself we had yet to get to know each other. So I am glad I am going in with a loss.
261.5 lb Lost so far: 7.0 lb.    Still to go: 91.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Man, perogies??? You did *amazing!!!* Major gold stars for that. I don't really like your new doctor. He could use a course in bedside manner.

Thanks Jengetfit! I was lucky that I wasn't particularly hungry. It did hold me until a late supper so that was good. My new doctor will learn! He has a good reputation and dealt well when my husband and I came into emergency last April with my husband having a major bowel blockage. Turned out to be stage 4 cancer. He orchestrated a CT scan in the next town (half hour away) within an hour. Then he went over the results with my husband a half hour later. He consulted with the surgeon who was a 2 hour ambulance ride away. The two doctors were able to both look at the CT scan on line to decide next steps. Dave was told by the doctor before leaving in the ambulance what the surgical plan was. The surgeon was fully prepped so that when my husband arrived he was whisked into surgery immediately. Very impressive! So I am willing to work with him although it may take awhile to get him on side! It is good that he is aware of my husband's situation as he is already talking to me about getting ready for the long haul.
