If I can offer just a little bit of advice......................................weigh your food and log everything so you can get an understanding of what you eat. If only for say 2 weeks. Good luck champ!

Welcome Cassie! I have a longer journey than you do, but I can tell you what's working for me. I purchased a couple of cookbooks by Diabetic Living. They are great because the meals and snacks are balanced and the recipes list not only the nutrition information, but also the size of the portions. I also measure/weigh and log my food daily. I am actually eating more food than before I started, but significantly fewer calories. Using the diabetic model allows me to eat pretty much anything I want as long as I plan for it. The weight has been coming off at about 2.5 pounds per week. The best thing I am finding is because I don't feel deprived and am eating more healthful foods in moderate portions, when folks bring treats into the office, I'm not even interested in them any more. I have been trying to lose weight for 30 years and this is the first time I have actually been able to do it without getting discouraged and giving up after a short period of time. I have been doing this for 6 weeks now and have lost 14.8 pounds. I still have about 130 to go, but this is the first time I have felt like I actually have a chance to really do it. Glad to have you with us. I am also handicapable. My husband set up a home gym for me based on my physical therapy. Also do water aerobics. It's a journey and we're all in this together. 🌷
