Starting tomorrow I'm going to start a low carb-high protein diet. Based on what my doctor has said and the fact that I've been plateaued for more than a month, I think this is a good idea. I'm not sure how well I'm going to do. The list of foods that I can eat isn't very long but I think I can do it. I just have to find different ways to eat the foods I can eat. No more bread, I didn't really eat pasta that much, no pop. I think instead I'm going to start drinking green tea and just cut pop out all together. I need to research some snacks I can eat that are low carb. There is more research in my future.

Oh my goodness, I ate so much last night. I had a piece of fried chicken. The fried chicken I had on July 4th and yesterday was the first fried chicken I've had since we started eating healthy in January. We had pizza and cake. My mom made this cake called "better than sex cake". It was awesome :) I had 2 pieces.

I'm below 233!!! YAY!!!! Maybe my plateau is finally over. I'm not going to get too excited until I see more results but maybe it's finally over.....

232.8 lb Lost so far: 46.2 lb.    Still to go: 33.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I had some success doing low carb the past few months. The only thing I noticed was that I did have lower energy - as in no energy/motivation to work out! I'm not sure that I was doing low carb as well as I could have. I started feeling better when I upped my carbs. I'm still not going overboard, but I know you just have to figure out what works for you! There are some great recipes on the site for low carb - I found one for a "muffin in a minute" that uses flax meal. You can do different variations too - yummy!

Yeah, from the research I've done so far I'm not going to do the adkins diet or the similar ones that say to eat less than 30 carbs. I'm going to shoot for 50 carbs or less at first. If that seems to low I'm going to shoot for between 50 and 100.

I'm doing low calorie / low carb / high protein and low fat. It's a bit of a challenge but I'm showing amazing results. I just don't seem to process carbs well and I'm not sure why. I, personally, haven't had any problems with low energy but I did have headaches for the first couple of days. Best of luck to you!

Some say you subtract your fiber number from your carb number to getyour "real" carb number. For example, if you log 120 carbs and have eaten 25 in fiber, your total carb intake would really be 95. It has to do with soluble carbs. I am not a fan of the Atkins plan but did read that on ther website. I know you are not doing Atkins, In fact ut sounds like you are doing kinda what I do. Moderate catbs, hugher protein and lower fat. Lots of water and fiber over 25g...YOU CAN DO IT !!
