Evaluate the total sugar, I think you'll be surprised, raisins can add up quickly.

Looks good to me but any dried fruit (which I luv, luv, luv) does have a lot of sugar per serving.

Nice Smoothie ----Not crazy about raisins myself however, but a smoothie is usually my go to meal replacements almost everyday. When I get hunger pangs I make a low cal smoothie, or for breakfast replacement or protein shake !!! Great Job... Minimize banana to half of 1 or small one at best ---> as too much potassium may cause renal problems if to high of limits are reached. Try to substitute some form of small berry (4 to 5 small fresh berries) in place of raisins to mix things up from time to time. Your other ingredients are spot on ..... Good 4 You! Keep going . Here's to cheering you on to success!

@ wright2018 try to get to 4000 potassium a day this app will track it for u. it's hard but that's lower than the minimum requirement so why are people scared that they'll get to much. The USA has a potassium deficiency problem there is no toxic potassium level unless you supplemnt it.

I tried to get information about potassium as I noticed that mine was so low. I did find a couple of articles saying that what is needed is a ratio of 1 part sodium and 2 parts potassium. They say that they put the potassium so high (4700) because most people eat too much salt. My salt intake is extremely low and I am trying to get that higher. I know it sounds impossible but I was often under 500 mg of sodium per day. I don't know what the requirements would be for specific diets or people with problems with potassium. The information I found applies to my way of eating.

Added sodium should be as low as 1500 or 1 an a half grams we can get all the sodium we need from whole foods potassium needs magnesium not sodium. I get nutrition information from Dr Greger not randomly Google things.

Wright, Is correct.to much potassium daily leads you on the road for renal damage..2000mg is the highest your kidneys can filter daily without problems..sorry mrnoface, but if you keep in that believe tell how dialysis feels one day for you.

Ok mrnoface, l need to retract what l said..4700mg for daily allowance is rec.but only for heathy kidneys and heart fuction but as time goes on its best when you have blood work up to have that included in your findings to make sure those oragans are still operating fine at those MG's

Greger is actually the person who made me think that ratios could be very important. In one of his videos he says that vegans do not live longer than people who eat meat. I'm sure you have seen that. I`m not tall and I don`t eat a 2000 calorie a day diet which could give people a proper nutrition and I can see when I input my food on another site that I am very low on certain minerals or vitamins. I have read many articles from different sources and as you can see I have also watched videos from even Dr. Michael Greger therefore I am not limited to one random article.

Sorry Murphy— the RDI is about 4500. I might suggest that this is a subject that is well worth either talking to your doctor about or at least find some real medical sites to read in additions to diet sites. Potassium needs to be from dietary sources. You never want to supplement unless you are under the care of a physician who can monitor your levels. Both a high and a low potassium can KILL you— stops your heart. Not good. Primary source of potassium is fruits and vegetables.

Sorry, hit the button too soon. Legumes and fish have good potassium. Google dietary sources of potassium and see what might work. Your kidneys deal well with all of your electrolytes . If you have kidney problems you need to see a dietician.

Hi Kenna, l know l jumped the gun on this. What l was trying to convey is in time if a person start's having heart or especially kidney disintegration....potassium RDI levels must be lowered accordingly to the lower functions of the heart and or the lesser filtering of the kidneys...and that goes with protein too.

That is much closer to the truth. Dialysis patients are typically on a 1500 mg sodium/2 gram potassium diet with constant monitor.
