As a child I was thin with little to no fat or mass. I had some minor health issues but stayed active in youth sports. As I became an adolescent I began to explore more fitness and entertain the idea of one day bodybuilding/bodyshaping. I did not want to get freakishly big or look ridiculous, just look very fit. So I became a multi-sports athlete throughout middle school, high school, and college. Baseball/Basketball/Football/Karate/Judo/Track/Waterskiing/Skiing, Swimming/Lifeguard, Weightlifting, Volleyball, Coaching, more; each of which I was competitive. As I began college I wanted to work in sports medicine,but quickly changed my major to computer science and business management. A decision I wished I had never made as it would change the direction of my life forever. I worked my way through college performing landscaping, Ski Patrol, Factory, Information Technology and Engineering work. After a series of medical and career setbacks I began to gain weight rapidly and felt defeated. At my highest weight a year ago, I weighed in at 349 pounds, and I knew I had to fix myself. Despite the setbacks, I have continued my educational pursuits, attempted to lose some weight, but find myself longing to be that individual I was when I was younger (Fountain of Youth?).Now that I am aging, my body seems to be rebelling against me or vice versa. I have major aches and pains. I feel my parents are in better shape than I am, and I now find myself in need of a lifestyle change due to a long career of sedentary work. Long hours, being underappreciated, and more have led me down a darkened path for which I refuse to be a participant. So, I am here to see about changing my life---I know Rome was not built in a day, weight did not add up all at once, so I know it may take a while to remove it.But after a lot of wasted time, years, heartaches and more,I can honestly say I am ready for a change.and hope to make some friends along the way which may share in similar situations.

Saying Hello To Everyone
I am new to My Fat Secret. I have made the decision after many years of nutritional neglect to build a new me. I have spent a lifetime helping others, while leaving little to no time for myself. I have recently been informed that I will need knee replacements in both legs due to repetitive stress and over work due to extreme sports usage, other various activities, and career work.

Over the years, I have found myself losing mobility and as a result adding weight. So I have made it my mission to refocus and change my life for the best. Along the way I hope to meet many wonderful persons from different walks of life and hear about their situations. Please no negativity as the world is full of naysayers which contribute to nothing good or of importance. All Positive persons---welcome as I look forward to contributing and contributions as time will allow.
