I am finally home from a long weekend, visiting the in-laws with hubby. I did not have a lot of food to eat since nothing they made for Easter dinner was low carb, not even the green beans or ham. My sister in-law saved me by bringing deviled eggs. I did eat one piece of ham but that was it. My father in-law made sure to put the brown sugar glaze on every single piece of ham. The green beans were cooked with canned soup and extra added flour. I did bring chicken soup with me, just in case. I am so glad I did. It was dinner Saturday also. They did take us to a buffet for brunch (breakfast) and that was okay. The pre-ordered me a steak (THANK YOU). The only other thing I could eat there was some cold, cooked green beans. Literally everything there was high carb, including the sweet butters they had made, no plain butter at all. I figured I could always just eat some eggs since Easter, but nope every egg was in some form of pie. BTW 8 different types of egg pie. Thankfully I did get the steak and not the french toast they could have ordered and it came with an egg some sort of wrapper/pastry cup thing. I pulled the egg out and left the cup. My son and hubby ate the potatoes and orange on the plate. I normally try to avoid the in-laws but have to go a few times per year. I should be good for about 4 months or so now. I'll stop and get frozen meals next time. I got home and ate a 1/8 cup of Halo Top chocolate covered banana, I needed it. I hope everyone had a better weekend than I did.
