Many approaches. A popular one is to eat during an eight hour window, and fast the other sixteen. So, if you stop eating at 6:00PM you wouldn't eat again until 10:00AM the next morning. Another approach is to fast two days out of the week. So, if you stop eating on Monday at 6:00PM you would eat again on Tuesday 6:00PM. Do the same for Wednesday-Thursday and you've got your two days. Does it work? Yes, it cuts your calories, and it also cuts your appetite. It lowers blood sugar and burns fat. Some people like it because they don't count calories and they're not restricted from eating anything. Many other benefit are documented in any number of places on-line. Google is your friend. I've only just started experimenting with it. For me, I wasn't having problems on calorie restriction, didn't feel deprived, and was seeing good results, but I'm interesting in how IF will work with my weightlifting goals, and so that's what has gotten me looking into it. There are contraindications. If you are pregnant, nursing, a child, on medications, or suffer from anorexia, then it's not for you. But for the majority of people it's a reasonable approach. Some doctors use IF to treat type II diabeties. Give it a go!

When your fasting for the 16 hours you can have water right? Cause during a day I drink 164oz of water.

Yes. In fact, there are many ways to fast. You might decide to allow some calories in the form of fat or bone broth (say under 50). This is particularly helpful when first getting accustomed to fasting.

Ok. Now how often are you suppose to fast? Cause there's one site that states that for women we can only do it 3 times a week but others site's say you can do it everyday?

It's absolutely Fantastic and I can see it becoming my life, not only have I lost a ton of weight, my blood sugars are rock solid so I dropped insulin and 2meds. my neuropathy pain is gone since my blood sugar isn't crazy high anymore damaging cells. so I dropped two opioids I was taking 4 times a day just to get through the day. My mental clarity and me memory have improved so much I feel like an entirely different person! I'm very excited and want to preach to the world, but I'm also angry that it took me 30 years to find this after following doctors orders to the letter. in addition to Intermittent Fasting in Doing the Ketogenic Life Style and Apple Cider Vinegar search YouTube and Intermittent Fasting paired with one of these 3 names Dr. Jason Fung Dr. Eric Berg Thomas Delauer. they will answer a ll your questions hopeful you can cut and paste this, it explains Keto and Fasting well in just 24 min. https://youtu.be/KUDNGOQaDaI

My understanding is that there is generally no problem. Here's an expert: https://www.dietdoctor.com/women-and-fasting

I didn’t once expect less energy for the first week at least i suggest you use multi-vitamin and BCAA Supplements through the fasting period and also i wanna say despite the health benefits but calorie deficit is calorie deficit in any diet plan according to science it should achieve the same results..... Good Luck

I’m vegan and don’t eat after 6:00 pm and not before 10:00. I feel better and when I restrict calories, my weight loss is increased. I really like it.

I find that it kick starts my weight loss. The first thing I try is to get rid of my evening snack. It can take me a long time to get rid of the habit and I eat fruits or vegetables at first to help me bring down the amount of calories I would have normally eaten. I might try to eat only one apple while I'm slowly getting rid of the after supper snack. I find that I'm not hungry the next morning when I don`t eat the night before. It's like a diet pill I guess you could say the next day. No appetite! You end up eating 2 meals a day or less calories because you have less time. It's good to push the morning breakfast until you get to 16 hours or so. I believe it`s good to start slowly. We change our habits and it is not that stressful to decrease the amount of food. When I'm in a position where I really need to lose weight I do it every day. When I go off my plan it takes me a while to get back on. I don't do it too often right now because I don't want to lose and I know that I would.

I love IF! Now that I'm adapted too, it's literally so easy, no hunger and I never feel deprived. My body has really responded to it. Thomas De Laeur in YouTube as well as Dr Berg are both good resources for info. Good luck to you!
