I’m feeling confused and a little frustrated. There are so much conflicting information about what is healthy and what isn’t. I think I’m doing fairly well getting my net carbs down and fat intake up then read I’m eating too much protein?? I never knew this could be a problem. What/how am I supposed to eat? Sometimes it feels like you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t.
Ultimately I want to be healthy more than I want to be thin...both would be ideal haha!

👀👀I just wanted to get in and throw in the kitchen sink before everyone literally comes with all their advice. 😂😂 You’ll figure it out though, something will spark a light. 💡

It's all about what works for you. It's ok to try different approaches and/or tweak them to what your body, mind and soul needs to reach your goals. Hang in there. You will figure it out.

personally speaking, I absolute love salads (not just for health reasons) I always ear salads w lunch and dinner. once upon a time for a whooping week, I are salads and chicken (prepared different ways) for just a week and done insanity workouts and some band workouts and lost 11 lbs in a week. then found out I was pregnant and had to quit, 5 yrs later and I'm getting back to it. salads and chicken or fish for lunch and breakfast. and breakfast is usually oatmeal w a fruit or grapefruit and a piece of peanut butter toast so far I'm done 6 lbs this week alone. it's all about what you like and what works for you.

You might want to talk to a doctor or nutritionist if your reading does not give you clarity about your eating. Personally, I know I have to limit carbs and fats while eating more fiber and protein. I also find that if I don't up the exercise I will not lose weight but then I am 66 and have always had a slow metabolism.

I've had the Adkin's books for 25 years, brushed off the dust and read. I read every day because it does get confusing. But it's my foundation. I lost 40 pds in 2 1/2 months back then and kept it off for 8 years, then felt cocky. I then went on every roller coaster diet there is. Back to Adkins and in the induction stage. Not hungry and losing fat and I am feeling so much better.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like you’re all as confused as me😉 just kidding! I appreciate the advice and input...now to figure out what will work best for my body. Low carb? Lower protein? More electrolytes? Intermittent fasting? Just count calories and exercise? Ugh it feels overwhelming.

I do know the older I get my metabolism is slower. I do protein and veggies. I eat good carbs like sweet potatoe and avocado. I exercise minimum now but will increase it later. I usually walk at least 4 miles 4 times a week. Right now with the exercise at a minimum I'm losing at least 4 lbs. A week. Everyone is different so find the right combination of foods that will work for you.

I eat well balanced. I have looked at the top 10 diets and healthy, balanced is more popular. It makes sense when they say that if you go too low in one food group that it's not healthy for you. I have lost the weight that I wanted, got to my goal weight and lost 3 more pounds. I'm out in the snow for a couple of hours a day and I attribute the extra loss to this. I don't want the snow to go way! Minus 40 here I come! I don't care how cold it is, I love it!
