Good Sunday all!

Yesterday I had a rather large lunch and reall wasn't hungry for dinner, even after KILLING it in the shop all day yesterday. So when supper time rolled around, I figured what the heck, I'll skip it and go for a close to 24 hour fast. When I woke up this morning I was hungry, but not famished, so into the shop I went.

When 10:30 rolled around I figured it was time to start planning lunch, so I went to the kitchen and started scrounging around. While digging in the frig I discovered some pork strips that needed to be cured, so I made a batch of tasso cure and got that started before making breakfast. I'll talk tasso in a couple of weeks when it's done.

I decided to break my fast with some serious protein, steak and eggs! I pan cooked the steaks in butter and cooked the over easy eggs in coconut oil. Added some sliced tomato from the garden and had a feast!

Now I'm ready for a nap, but have stuff to do...

My boys are coming to town this week, so I need to get things rearranged for their arrival!

Hope everyone has a great day!

I am a bit afraid of the so called keto illness...and I wonder what else there might be for breakfast but egs....avocados....since we won't have fruits and any kind of bread in the first two weeks...do you count net carbs? Thank you so much 😘

We had coffee with a bit coconut oil in the morning, eggs with mushrooms / with bacon for lunch and chicken and salad / steak and broccoli for dinner so far...

@Viviance, I have been told I am going through the Keto flu now.. its nothing to be afraid of just don't feel well for a few days. I am feeling better already and scale is still dropping. Good luck to you and what you have been eating sounds good.

@Cranky.. your food always looks so good! what is the seasoning on the eggs?

Viviace, I count net carbs as total carb grams minus fiber grams. I target 20 g or less net carbs per day. Since I am several months in, I do eat a little fruit - a few raspberries and blueberries in my lunch salad; or raspberries and cheese for a snack. Many on this site make almond flour bread and post the recipe. "Keto flu" can be part of the body's adaptation to low carbs. If you feel light-headed or dizzy, have something salty like bouillon - low carb causes the body to shed salt.

@Cherik, it's a seasoning blend that my son came up with. Not sure what all is in it, but I do know is has salt, white pepper, parsley, and butterbuds in it. Sounds strange, but really good stuff!

My husband didn´t lose one gram since we startet. He meanwhile started drinking water, he has to fight to reach 3 litres. Is it possible, that he has more carbs stored? I reduced them before, but we have been at a wedding on Friday, that´s why we started Saturday...

@cranky, that tomato looks so amazing... so does everything else, but I am crazy about bright red, juicy tomatoes... what a beautiful plate of food!
