Ieksie's Journal, 31 October 2017

I'm starting an egg fast tonight, just for 3 days, to see if I can break my plateau.

I feel like sh*t though... Not sure if I've got flu or just major allergies. Didn't go to cross fit yesterday, didn't even go to work.

Hope everyone's week is going better than mine!

Thanx Kimmy321, 100% back to normal... Pretty sure it was just allergies, OR, it could be all the sh*t food I ate over the weekend.

Leksie I bought a microwave egg thingy from Clicks that can make omelettes. You just scramble 3 eggs, pour on either side of the tray and microwave for about 1 and a half minutes. The eggs come out so soft and spongy. The best part is that you don't need any oil to cook them.

@Yolanda - I also have the Tupper omelette maker, it works so well I LOVE IT! Have you tried to steam some green beans OR julienne veggies in it? Super easy and fast.

Hi there new to the group Can you tell me if the 3 egg day detox worked? Thanx

@gilly5 - It depends on what you wanna achieve. I just wanted to break my plateau. I fast about 18 - 20 hours a day (I only eat dinners), so it has worked for me, but I'll only know by next week if it worked or not. So far, so good.

Thanks Leksie appreciate your help. Yikes not sure if I can manage 18-24 hour fasts everyday but will be good to hear how it has helped you - then maybe get my mind set on it 😃😃

I thought exactly the same a year & a half ago, when I first started fasting. You can always start with intermittent fasting, where you only skip breakfast & have lunch after 12:00, read up on it at the www.dietdoctor.com & also check out Dr Jason Fung's blog. It has helped me & a lot of other members here. @BBO & LCFF - if you guys wanna leave some nuggets of wisdom here...

Gilly I think everyone starts off by thinking "I could never do that!!!" I now do 40 hour fasts without any food and I also started off thinking like that. The trick to it is to accept that you will mess up a few times as you get used to it. Make small changes each week instead of trying to do it all in one go. You can take breaks where you might gain weight but then you just start again and don't ever give up. Over time you lose fat and that translates into weight loss but sometimes you can even get heavier even if you are getting slimmer. Read up on the info Leksie gave you and also check out www.thefastdiet.co.uk which is a fasting lifestyle that goes well with Intermittent Fasting.

Thank you both. Good advise and will do that reading up on it Yes little steps forward sounds a good idea. I am very determined as really hate carrying an extra sack of potatoes on my body I am quite active so probably could eat lunch time and then fast till the following lunch time ? Thanks guys. Have a great weekend 😃
