madjak30's Journal, 28 February 2012

I had an interesting day today...went for an internal interview, kind of a lateral move but to a position with more opportunity for advancement...the interview went very well, the manager conducting the interview kept saying "I think we are interviewing THE GUY"...but in the end they asked me my salary expectations and they told me the ball park they were looking in and we were about $7G appart...so they are writing up an offer for me, and as I left I told him to "sharpen your pencil"...I'm hoping that they SHOW ME THE MONEY...I'll probably take it anyway, but it never hurts to ask...

One of the other managers took me out for lunch and we went to a Vietnamese restaurant...good food, low cal (I couldn't even finish), spicy enough to get your nose running but tolerable...but man is it loaded with sodium, so I will probably retain water after that one...but then I stopped at Tim Hortons (similar to Krispy Kreme) and had some Timbits (donut holes)...10 @ 70cal each, Mmmmm...bad choice, but Mmmmm...anyway, I'm still under my RDI AND I got to celebrate!! WOOHOO...tell me that isn't win-win...other than the sodium...

Later.

Good luck on your promotion! MMM, donuts! Vietnamese food is good, and thai, its nice and clean and simple with lots of veggies and less grease than regular chinese food (Americanized). Are you a cannuck? Anyway, enjoy your day.

I am absolutely floored that you came in under RDI with 700 calories of donuts!! I for sure would have been over... but dang they would be good.. I don't know how long it's been since I've had a donut... mmm.. I've never had Vietnamese food, but I'm also a big wimp when it comes to spicy things.. I probably wouldn't have handled it well!! Hope you get a big old raise!!!

Yup...Canadian and proud of it...working Oil & Gas Industry (Electrician...okay, management now) The soup (5 cups worth...would hate to see the "Large" portion) was very low calorie, but quite high in sodium...still under my RDI, even with my protein bar after workout!! Can't believe I wasn't hungry today...my body must be adjusting to lower caloric intake?? Later.

I hope you get the job, my friend! Don't worry about the sodium, it's only a temporary gain. I know these can be frustrating (boy, do I know...), but they are ONLY temporary. As long as we don't gain fat. :)
