MATH WORD PROBLEM.

Wayne buys a 32 oz bottle of either Powerade or Gatorade and drinks half a bottle after my workouts. A single serving of either is 12 fl oz. Each bottle says it has 2.5 servings. What happens to the other 2 oz? Please show your work.

You will lose 1 ounce from spillage opening the bottle since it will be filled up to the rim and an excessive amount of force is required to break the small but sturdy plastic strips sealing the cap. This condition is raised exponentially immediately following a hard workout when your hands are weak and shaking from a loss of electrolytes. The remaining ounce is spilled trying to place the small diameter, tall by ratio bottle on a flat surface. It will by design tip over at some point during this process but cat-like reflexes will kick in saving the bottle contents except for one ounce of sacrificial spillage. Hope this helps. I have several charts and tables to support if needed :)

Since you are a wizard you poofed the extra 2 oz out of Wayne's drink. As a wizard you know that and are trying to trick us.

32 oz divided in half is 16 oz. Serving size is 12 oz, so you've got an additional 4 oz, not 2. All of it should be poured into the garbage, however, because salty sugar water with bonus preservatives negates the entire workout, health wise. Water is the solution.

I used to drink this when I would take bike rides in the summer heat in Arizona. If I only drank water, I couldn't get enough. But with the Gatorade, I could drink half a bottle and be fine. No horrendous unquenchable thirst. For a tough workout, I'll keep the Gatorade handy and not worry about the math.

@soonsoonsoon - I drink water during the workout and before. The Powerade/Gatorade is a treat (beside alcohol ... i miss alcohol ... and fruit juice it is the only thing I drink that has calories) and it does help me bounce back quicker. As far as the 2 vs 4 oz, it is only 2 extra ounces. 12+12+6=30. You should have shown your work. :-)
