More snow has made for another stressful week. OH went for a camera examination of his bladder. Not pleasant for him and another tumour discovered. They are going to admit him and remove it uder general anaesthetic. We still have no news about his upper intestine. In the last 3 weeks he's had an endoscopy, colonoscopy and the bladder examination. He reckons the only orifice they haven't looked in is his ears!

It seems as though its the week for bargains. Moose has found a new coat and I popped into town while OH was being 'done' and found a skirt which I didn't buy when it was reduced to half price last time I went into town, had been reduced by half again. So I came home with two new skirts for half the original price of one. Result.

The scales are up a bit this morning but I'm not recording it. We had lunch out yesterday and every time I eat out I see the result on the scales. I had bacon and lentil soup with wholegrain bread and a fruit scone with strawberry jam. It was scrumptious and I really pushed the boat out on the way home and had ice cream.

When we set out yesterday morning we'd had about 3 inches of snow and the sun was out. The journey was a delight. It was that light fluffy snow and every branch and twig had about half an inch of snow on it. Even the phone lines were covered and every time a bird landed or the wind blew it sent little flurries into the air which then sparkled its way down to the ground in the sunlight. It was all gone off the roads and paths when we came home but this morning we'd had a bit more. The grey piles of snow left on the roadside from the last lot are white again and the hills too.

Grand daughter No. 2 who has kerataconus was due to have a corneal transplant next monday but she has been told that her general health isn't good enough and the risk is too high so they won't be able to go ahead. She is gutted but her ME is not good at the moment and she has asthma too so I'm not too surprised and a 45% risk of not making it through the anaesthetic is just too high.

My sewing skills have been called into action this week. The 18 year old lad down the road has asked me to alter a pair of dress trousers to a tail suit. They are a large family and can't afford to hire him a suit and have been given this one by an elderly and well to do gentleman. The suit is from another era and beautifully made. The inside of the waist is lined with satin and also the back of the pockets so they don't chafe on the legs. There are buttons for braces, a ticket pocket and a watch pocket with a bound slit for the chain. He is hoping to wear top hat and tails for his prom so I hope I can do them justice. He is planning to arrive on horseback (loaned from the farmer)!

Hope everyone is back on track now the holiday season is over and getting ready for spring! The snowdrops that I saw poking their heads above the grass 2 or 3 days ago heralding the better weather are now covered up with snow again, so I'll have to wait a bit longer I think.

Things seem very busy where you are! Your sewing project sounds wonderful and I'm sure will be much appreciated. You seem to be handling the bumps in road very well. Hang in there!!

I had that same magical view this morning: the trees coated with snow. Beautiful! Good luck with your sewing project - that sounds like one sweet suit!

Wow flaxseed ... I am speechless!!! I could never even dare to attempt such a tailoring job!! While things are stressful your spirit shines through ... I can relate. We still have had the almost "no snow" year here ... things are a bit "ugly" ... with old melted snow which is now ice ... mud ... and lots of brown grass ... UGH. But perhaps we'll have an early Spring??? One can always HOPE!!

Hey Lady! I left you a nice comment over on the group forum link. In fact -- your sewing craft is just the kind of ability I mention on the link! Be careful in the snow! Toodle Ooh!

I feel bad for poor OH but there is nothing more that you can do other than to place your mind wholeheartedly on these other projects. Hang in there flaxseed.
