Ugh...I'm going out of state to visit my best friend in the whole world and I'm so freaked out. She and her family (who I will be staying with) are NOT on low-carb and I'm so scared that I'm going to lose it and gain - if you know what I mean. Any advice? I'm going to be there for a week. I really hope that I don't gain the weight back with interest. I'm so scared. I don't feel comfortable asking them to change their eating habits for me, but I really don't want to eat what I'm not supposed to eat. Help.

You could always try the old 'I cant eat that any more, Ive got wheat allergies' Dont know how much that would work for but it does atleast cut out pasta, rice and bread, not a bad start!

Try and fill up on what you know you can eat. There is always the salads, meats, and cheeses. Maybe there is even a low carb market where you can purchase some treats for yourself. Anyway I am sure you will do just fine. Have a nice vacation!!!!

I like the allergy idea (no one will argue with you if you say that one!) Is it the type of relationship where you could bring a bag or two of groceries with you, and say that you didn't want to impose on them too greatly so you stopped ahead of time to pick up a few items (like cheeses, bibb lettuce, burgers, eggs)? Some people will not think much about it, but others might find it weird. (I actually like it when people bring a few of their favorite items when they come stay with us!) Either way, have a great time and enjoy seeing your best friend!
