Whew, what a busy day!!!
I went in to work an hour and a half early for a client..her husband is ill, and gets nursing care in the home in the mornings, so that's the only time she can escape to get things done. She's been with me for many years, so I bend a little for her. Since she was the only one on the book for the day, I had a long list of things to do.
When I took my car in for service the other day, they rotated the tires, and it produced a bad shimmy in the steering. I took it back today to see what was causing it, and it turns out that all 4 wheels were out of balance! $30 later, it's better, but now it pulls to the right badly. *sigh* I suspect they did something to the alignment when they were doing the changing.
I finally got a chance to check out the public indoor pool in town. It's really nice! And very inexpensive...a senior monthly pass is $25, and I can go as often as I like. The hours are 8 AM to 8 PM, so I should be able to fit it into my schedule a few times a week. They do offer aquaerobics classes on M-W-F, on a schedule that is compatible with my work schedule. And each session is only $5. :)
I had some shopping to do, then since I had a couple of hours to kill between checking out the pool and the car appointment, I treated myself to lunch at a little Japanese restaurant near the dealership I'd been to once before. They had a nice bento box lunch at a very reasonable price. Have I mentioned my fascination with all things Japanese? I must have lived there in a previous lifetime. The food, the manners, the aesthetic, even the language, twangs my heartstrings. It was (for me) a huge amount of food, and I ate every morsel. I recorded it as best I could, and even so, racked up a meager, under 600 Kcal for the day. Including my morning coffee. How is this possible???
Even now, 5 hours later, I feel stuffed to the gills. *shrug* Oh, well, we'll see what the scales say in the morning.
I think I'll be hitting the sheets early tonight....it's been a long day. Have a great night (morning, afternoon) buddies!

I keep promising to go to my local pool, but have never got round to it. I used to go years back, straight off the nightshift, but then the yummy mummies started coming in at that time and put me off. I felt like some kind of perv.

Lol, Jocko! Shame that put you off though.

Sorry to hear about your tire troubles. At the risk of being cynical, might it be time to find a different fitter? Sounds like they're just getting more jobs out of you each time you go. Hope you have a good day today. Japanese food and finding a decent pool sound great. There's something about Japanese food that when you eat it, you somehow know it's 'right'. There's no other word for it. And Jocko, things might be different at your pool now. Why not give it a try?

Thanks guys...it was a pretty good day, and I slept really well. @Snoop, the shop I take it to is the dealership where I bought the car 13 years ago. I've had every bit of work ever done to it, done there...with the exception of the tires. LOL I got them at Walmart, and had them put on there. If anyone is suspect, it is far and away good ole Wallyworld. They might never have been balanced correctly.

That explains it, then. Happy driving!

@Jocko, if it was years ago, maybe those yummy mummies aren't quite so yummy any more. Besides, if you keep your mind on the swim, you won't have time to worry about feeling like a perv! ;)
