JockoT's Journal, 08 October 2016

It is a lovely dry, sunny Saturday morning here. Unfortunately we are not driving over to visit my mother-in-law so my wife wants to go out for a bar lunch. I have tried to dissuade her, but all I have managed to do us give her the humph. So it will be a high calories guestimated lunch, with a dour table companion. That will have to be my meals for the day so I will be starving by 6pm and in bed by 8. Just the sort of Saturdays I love.

At least if you're in bed for 8 you'll be up early for the GP. Take care

Sounds great to me. But I know how you feel with bar snacks. Same here tonight, but the chef knows my preferences. It's our local club and there will be a group or singer to entertainment. Weather in middle England is cold damp and dismal

Phooka: I'll have to wait until 1:30pm for the highlights on Channel 4, as I don't have Sky. Unless I inadvertently hear the result before hand, in which case I won't bother with the highlights.

LOL! What can you do, but thank God for your beautiful, crabby companion? Hope your starved evening wasn't too painful 😮

Sorry, Jocko - I keep forgetting you don't have Sky. It's really annoying they're not all shown on terrestrial TV. Personally I preferred the Suzie Perry, David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan presentation format - the CH4 person (whose name escapes me) just isn't as good as Suzie. Paul Di Resta is excellent with race analysis on Sky but Damon Hill and Martin Brundle are a bit 'grey' if you get my drift

Will they have a roast option on a Saturday? I ended up in a similar situation last week ... I asked them to give me extra veg instead of roast potatoes (just claimed I didn't like them), and I had a small Yorkshire and gravy. The total calories weren't too, too awful in the end, I stayed within the FatSecret total.

Had a wonderful lunch, which, with beer, I clocked up about 1800 calories. Mrs T was fine once we got out, so all in all the day looks brighter. I had a 10oz gammon steak with a fried egg and chips, the apple crumble to finish. Add to that 2 pints of Innis & Gunn lager (Edinburgh's finest brewery).

Sounds lovely, Jocko. I must confess I've succumbed to Aspall's finest this lunchtime and since I decided a couple of butter croissants would be good for brekkie (they were but wtf was I thinking?) I'm already pushing my RDI before I have dinner even!

Apple crumble mmm ... one of my all time best puds. Lovely custard as well.

I had a similar lunch with my husband on Friday and put on 2 pounds! I had a veggie burger and chips with bread and butter pudding after. I don't normally eat puddings but I can never resist bread and butter pudding if I see it on the menu! I had a pint of Peroni then a large glass of chardonnay also, so not surprised my weight is up. We'll have to do better next week, Jocko :)

I am up 3 lbs this morning, though I know it is not a true weight gain. As long as I am 13 something come Friday's weigh in!

I don't know about you guys, but I feel disheartened when my scale reads higher after I veer off plan. Sometimes, I imagine a future where I can eat what and when I like, but then when the scale does this, it makes me think I have to move toward a WOE I can deal with permanently. For me, it really means I have to work hard to increase my vegetable intake. You know, I really enjoy eating them, they just take more work to prepare, and then they go bad in my fridge if I don't keep at them.

LadyinDenim - I know exactly how you feel. I could have written all that myself! Dear husband decided he wanted to go for lunch again today and I really overindulged. Planning on getting back on track tomorrow!

It's a slippery slope, right? I have been secretly off track the past couple days -- didn't log all my food and didn't post my weight gain today. My tomorrow is two days coming!

Thanks, Mrs M. Yes, I am fine. I am working every day this week and next, so I just haven't had time to post. I am still logging my foods though.
