I am 53 and in March 2012 I was at my heaviest weight 212 pounds. I have always been overweight and have been trying to lose weight all of my adult life. Quite often I would loose a few pounds and then put it back on with a few more. I was doing very well, but went off the rails again. I have almost gained back most of the weight I had lost, So yet again i have to get back on track! I have have a wonderful Lurcher rescue dog, (Mishka) and we go on lovely walks together.

It's always just about the calories
I agree with rabbitjb, my story is very similar with dieting. This time I am weighing my foods eating around 1500 or just under. Eating healthy foods, but one slight difference is I am eating fewer Carbs, (including sugar), more protein and healthy fats. I am walking for exercise and have lost 10 pounds since August, so this is working for me.

Just joined Fatsecret
Hi my name is Debbie and I have just joined today!

I am looking for some support buddies, so feel free to add me if you like. I am still finding my way around at the moment. I have already lost some pounds since November. 11 pounds to be exact, but it has been quite difficult due to having an underactive thyroid and only just recently having my medication increased. If anyone has an underactive thyroid and can offer advice, it will be much appreciated!

Anyway I am looking forward to getting to know some of you wonderful people. Very Happy
