Exercise bike and a few other things are ordered as of this morning. I have a running list on amazon of other things I will need (or want) to make some of the recipes that look amazing on a bunch of different sites. I have to get some variations going or this isn't going to work....

Boyfriend is still saying he will eat the foods or at least try them....if we don't like them..oh well...at least I can say that we tried. I've got myself wondering...since I don't ever think a recipe I follow explicitly never seems to have enough flavor and I add more...can I "safely" do that with low carb recipes?

I woke up this morning feeling a bit frumpy and I was right according to my weigh in. That's what motivated me to press the "check out" button for the bike. lol I am hoping that helps. Have to figure this out before I feel like giving up. Not close yet...but I know me.

Off to find new things today.

I wouldn't get too caught up in details where recipes are concerned. If you feel like every meal is a science project, it's too much stress already. You need to prepare food that you will actually eat, that you enjoy, and that satisfies your hunger. That's why the fat- to satisfy the hunger without stimulating insulin spikes. If you go over in carbs, maybe you will have more cravings, maybe you will have more water weight the next day, maybe nothing. You won't know until you experiment. Experiment! :)

I adjust most of my recipes to add more spice and flavor. I think most are made for the "average" palate and, since I grew up eating spicier foods, most are too bland for me. So I say, adjust away -- just be aware of the dietary impact of any changes you make, although most herbs and spices have negligible effect on calories/carbs/fats.
