Feeling a little defeated today. Still baffled by what's going on with this diet. How can I be burning twice as much as I consume, be eating less than half the required calories, and mostly under 20g of carbs...and gain weight??
The only thing I can figure is that net carbs doesn't work for me. I have to count ALL carbs, and exercise more.
I came SO close to just throwing in the towel today. Went for pizza with Lisa, fully intending to pig out. But the new habit stuck!
Started by ordering the thin crust, all meat pizza, thinking there would at least be fewer carbs in the thin crust. Ordered a house salad with ranch dressing, knowing that that was low carb, high fiber, too. I ate only maybe 2 bites of the crust, then scraped off the topping for the rest of the piece.
I felt gratified and a little proud of myself for not giving in.
But if I had remembered to grab that half of a baguette from work before I left, I would be ALL OVER it right now!
