I really have decided that i am not going to worry about what the scales say that i weigh. Yes it will be nice to get down to 140lbs but i will be happier if i can get down to a size 12-16. I am going to continue to log in my foods and post my weight but if I can get rid of the inches, i will be happy....You guys are the BEST on this site. I dont know you guys in person but I am so happy i found all of you.

I think it's important to make goals reasonable and attainable - and that don't freak you out! My goal should really be 140 instead of 160, but given my terrible track record I decided to aim for something that will build my confidence in my abilities to follow through (assuming I get there). I may be quite happy at 160. Choosing a size is a great way to go!

Have you considered tracking a 7 Day Moving Average of your daily scale weight? For me, doing so helped me handle the psych battle of the maddening daily scale weight fluctuations (all water) while retaining a clear understanding of whether I was eating too much.

Jimmiepop, I have not because i do not weigh every day. I weigh on Fridays when i go to the gym. I dont have a scale at home and on the other days i go to the gym i really dont want to weigh because i dont want to know what i weigh every day.

Navymom, you have a great attitude. I don't always follow what I preach, but one of my mantras is "don't allow the scale determine my success"!!! Of course, there have been many a days that I knew I had a good week, and the number on the scale didn't agree, and I wanted to fling it. :o) Have a healthy weekend!!

well my thing is that during the week i do get hungry but on the weekends i dont notice it that much. so i eat less (which i know isnt good). I will have to try to stay on some kind of schedule for the weekends as well.

Eating less IS good! That's fine for the weekends, as long as you don't overdo it the rest of the week.

So far during the week, i have been way under on the calorie count if i understand how this site works. it gives you the amount of calories you need per day and then what you eat and burn during exercise gives you your net difference. I havent had a day yet that i can recall where i hit 1200 calories a day.
