warrenwinter's Journal, 05 April 2016

Hi, and a very happy Tuesday to all of us FatSecret fans. Well, yesterday I was told by my doctor, that I have a Gleason scale value 6 (3+3) adenocarcinoma cancer on my prostate, and that it was treatable. The explanation wasn't very thorough. I was sad coming home, but then, when I Googled it, I felt a lot better. It sounds like, if you are lucky, you can live with it. My bone scan is the next important step. Everyone have a great day!

Hi Warren, I hope the cancer is of the "watchful waiting" variety and that the bone scan will bring good news. Your attitude and zest for life are inspiring and make me smile!

Thanks Kp, for your nice words. I feel fine today. I am hoping that too. My wife's father died of Prostate Cancer at 52, so I obviously can feel lucky too.

Hi Warren, I'm sorry you have to deal with the "oma" word. It automatically makes one worry, and if the dr didn't tell you much - that makes it even worse! Thanks a lot dude! My dad had it 10 yrs ago. He did a lot of research about it and saw many dr's about what to do - finally decided on brachytherapy and is free of it now. I hope you have something similar happen.

Funny, Lovelife. Exactly my response. I mean, it wasn't even the doctor, who told me. The explanation was poor, and when you hear your positive for cancer, what is the natural response? I am a bit pissed about it. Then I Google it, and they are arguing whether to call it cancer or not. Kind of angry that I had a PPO to age 65, which was the best of all plans, and then when I turn 65 when I need it, I am relegated to an HMO. Bad luck there! lol Thanks though, I appreciate it! Thanks!

Warren, sorry to hear that things aren't 100%, but glad to hear that it's not as bad as some other forms of cancer. Hope your next scan comes back clean, take care!!
