I ate cake last night. I was having a food fit -- haven't had a great piece of pastry in nearly a year. I have to say though, I didn't feel as though I needed to do it again any time soon, and, of course, I was very, very uncomfortable today. Didn't make it to the gym because I was feeling so badly I was afraid I might really get into trouble being too far from a bathroom for more than 10 minutes. I think I'm over it this evening. I guess I just needed to get this out of my system!

It's not that I feel guilty. I feel kind of sad that thanks to IBS, I'm ever going to really enjoy a great piece of chocolate cake again. I think I had the fit because lately I haven't been making any lactose-free ice cream or baked custards for myself, so now I never get anything sweeter than fruit. What a change from my old self. I used to really love a good gooey brownie. Now, if I want to eat something with wheat or cream, I have to make sure I have nowhere to go the next day because I won't be able to leave the house!

You should have seen me last week!! I'm scared to lose this lifestyle once my husband comes home tomorrow (he was way for 2 weeks) but as you said, bathroom it out, sweat it out in your sleep... It's gonna be OK!

I have the opposite IBS probs. Once in a while something goes haywire and I am running for the potty. Yours is worse, as I had that for a while, too, caused by pills my gastroenterologist prescribed for me. Had to stop taking them and then they were pulled off the market!! I had to get up really early in the morning and get it all calmed down just to get ready for work ... and to be able to work. I honestly feel your pain. So you cannot have anything chocolate or just the flours.
