alanpfd's Journal, 31 August 2011

Well, a week is in the books. I'm anxiously awaiting the results when I weigh in tomorrow morning. I've been at least 1000 calories below my RDI every day, so there's no reason not to expect a loss. I do wish I'd been able to get to the gym more often. I made it every other day, but the rest of the time was so busy, I just couldn't make it. I should be better this week.

I love food that is both delicious and low in calories. I made up a batch of hummus today. It's incredibly good and only 100 calories for a 1/4 cup. Even the pita bread is only 100 calories or so per piece. Then, on the way home from work at 10:30, we stopped at the local supermarket and found crab legs for half price (the only way I can justify buying it --pricey!!) Again, less than 200 calories for my main course. So, anyway, I ate really well today, and hit my calorie target.

Day 7 of 60 and counting.

I wish I could have 1790 calories and lose weight. I am at below 1100 and I can still gain on that- check my journal, pathetic. Oh must soldier on!

jetgemini: Ya know, I almost wrote you a warning yesterday about maybe considering just weighing once a week but you were on such a high I did not want to take away from your buzz. The body fluctuates weight a lot daily, most can attest to having as much as four pounds differences just over night. What I did is picked every Sunday morning just after going to the bathroom. This helps with the physiological rollercoaster and gives you a more accurate account of your weight. Also you might want to check with Ali (Slim Fast's nutritionist) but I think that she will suggest you try to stay at 1200 calories for your weight. Remember your body is all about surviving and if it is not getting enough calories for a period of time it will go into starvation mode and start storing fat instead of burning it. That's what alanpfd did he hit a wall at 1200 calories contacted Ali and she informed him that calorie intake varies between men and women and the weight you are at. So she recommended a higher calorie intake and he started losing again. So anyway just a thought for you hope it helps and Godspeed Ron
