MINI GOALS:

I just realized I have not been setting any mini goals this time around. Mini goals have been such a useful tool in the past because some times the "big picture" can be a little overwhelming.

So today I have a micro-mini goal of wanting to lose 2 pounds this week. Losing 2 pounds will put me back into the 160's.

Would anyone else like to share their mini goals?

I know you can do it Buffy! My mini- goal for today is 3 miles on the treadmill because outside wants to be more winter than spring.

I LOVE mini-goals Buffy. I haven't usually shared just for taking time to change my bio page...but for the rest of April I am working on making sure I walk 6 times per week for AT LEAST 30 minutes each day...In May I want to bump that to 40 mins per day. Thanks for Sharing and Have a wonderful day !!!!!

I'd love to get down to 185 (that's 4 lbs) by the end of the month. I'm sticking to plan really tight, so maybe I can. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and my mouth closed...

That is such a good reminder. I would like to lose four pounds before May 5 when I have to go on a video. I know that won't make an amazing difference in my "on camera appearance" (gag) but I feel like it would solidify the really good, slow and steady work I've done the last six weeks. That four pounds would put me at 140 for the first time in years, for the first time since I let depression get the worst of me!

Good idea!! Mini goal is to get to 65000 steps for this week. I know I won't get to the gym as it's a week of trying to get some things accomplished on my house as I'm leaving for the weekend.

Rocky, STT & Wholefoodnut - I am impressed that your mini goals involve fitness and not just a number on a scale. Great inspiration!

Panigle - It has been almost 2 years since I was 149. Learn a lesson from my mistakes - when you reach 149 fight tooth and nail to stay there.

dboza - that is a realistic goal. Wishing you luck.

seekchange - am sure you have a beautiful smile that will win over both your audience and your depression. Have fun making the video.

Yes--what a great idea! Same here. My mini goal is going to be to take a walk around the block at least three times before this Sunday. I know that's small, but if I start small and keep my goal, then I'll progress. I hate to fail. LOL.

BuffyBear, Thank you for reminding me of mini-goals. I agree, this is so important in our climb to the top! Thanks for your message. My mini-goal is to post a photo of myself on my journal at the end of the month. If I blow it, and don't continue to lose weight, I'm still posting it, so there's a little mini-incentive to keep at it. Plus I just love coming here and having the collective experience of winning together!

I did actually set a mini goal for myself. I have a new dress for the wedding Saturday and it only reaches just below my knees. I don't think I've owned a dress that short in 30 years. So, my goal has been to increase my mileage on my walks to tone up my legs more. I had already increased from 6 to 7 1.3 mile laps plus the 5 miles to from the park. Today I did 8 laps. Thursday I hope to increase it by another lap. Tomorrow I'm going to get in what I can between rain showers. I want my legs to look as good as possible for this dress Saturday. I've walked 313.666 miles in the past 11 weeks and 2 days so this isn't new, just pushing harder.

WOW!! that's a bunch of miles!!! All of you baby steps are good, build up gradually and your body will respond. I couldn't do 5 minutes on the treadmill without being short of breath and feeling like my lungs would explode when I started Mine is fitness related since I'm at goal as far as weight goes, not for fitness or endurance. Lung function increase is big for me. Just got clearance tonight from the doc to go for it! after the last bronchitis bout. Said my lungs a clear so a good sign.
