Easter's a challenge I wasn't looking forward to so early on in my diet. I did manage to stay within my calories for the day. I didn't take any second helpings and my first helpings were waaaay smaller. It was a victory! However, I consumed more carbs than I'm used to and suffered for it with a terrible bellyache. I'm just not used to eating certain things anymore. Today, I feel like a bloated, fat pig even though I still had calories left over at the end of yesterday. So it was a caloric victory but not a GI victory.

How did you do this holiday weekend? Any advice to combat the bloat? Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter!

When you stand on the beach, the tide attacks & retreats with an ebb & flow. Thus is the same with losing weight. The conflicts in a meal or a particular urge present challenges that are easy to avoid at times; but occasionally, they work you in a corner & make you fight for it. With that being said, a victory is a victory is a victory. Not all victories can be a resounding defeat of the enemy. Some come down to the wire & are close to call. They make you earn it. So file them away in your memory bank. Let them accumulate. Those close battles stack up to win the war when all is said & done.

Lots of water and a good workout to get the bloat to go away. That is once think we low carbers have to realize. When we decide to cheat...we REALLY feel the effects the next day. I normally get headaches more so than bloat. Just drink water, eat healthy and get a good workout in.

@Jon Thanks for the encouragement! I'm back in the saddle and starting to feel better already. Have you ever considered becoming a motivational speaker? @Panigale1199 Yes, I didn't realize how the cheating would affect me. I know for next time and hope I'll make better choices to avoid the bellyache. :-)

I think we all struggled with Easter, LOL. It's so hard this early when you are starting a diet. I'm right there with you. I ate way too much. I can see and feel the gain because I'm not used to eating that type of food. Normally, I eat fish and veggies on my diet. i ate everything under the sun yesterday. Oh well...just think..no more big Holidays for a bit!
