Good Afternoon, FS Warriors! Oh, where to begin? I'll start at the end. OK, I'm done!

Well, I was tackled again behind the line of scrimmage. I'm not even going to weigh in tomorrow. I'm sure I'm right back where I started. Rough month. Turned 65. Today is wife's birthday and our 33rd anniversary. Some of you may remember that I gave her me for her birthday 33 years ago. Needless to say, the package looks a little disheveled today. Had daughter's birthday party Saturday afternoon. It's just been one month of unrestrained indulgence.

We had a nursing home gig last night. Only 2 of the 4 of us showed up - the Pastor's wife and me. Quite a bit of gear to haul in and out, and back and forth. I gave her a break when we were done, and just took everything in my van and unloadeded it at the church before going home. It was a great session, but I'm kind of exhausted today. We've got a senior's get together tonight. Movie night at the church tomorrow, and then a steak dinner and a night with the Gaithers Saturday. Then, things should settle back to normal for a little while. It's been a challenge to find time to work on the gymnasium's electrical service. About all I've accomplished so far is getting the meter box and the conduit into the building installed. The hard part is actually done, and I can get the rest done in a day, but I've got to have that day first. Somehow, I don't think retiring would make it any easier; I have a feeling I would be just as busy.

I applied for another job at another facility within the same organization. Just waiting to see if I get an interview. It would mean a promotion and a couple hundred thousand dollars a year raise. JK, wanted to see if you were still reading this far. It would be a promotion though. I'm just feeling a little stale at my present position. I've accomplished just about everything I could here. I figure if I'm going to keep working, I want something that's going to challenge me. Otherwise, I'll pick up my toys and go home. Maybe start a third career. Who knows. It's not like I can't find something to do.

Well, I just thought I'd check in. You guys are great. The whole point of this site is to get and give encouragement whether you're doing well or not, but for some reason, we don't come on here much when we're not doing well. Maybe it's a pride thing; I don't know. I do know that, when my diet and exercise isn't going well, there are a whole lot of other things willing to step in and take their place. So, until next time . . . Toodles!

Happy Belated Birthday to you!! Happy Birthday to your wife today!! And many, many more to the both of you!! Don't worry, enjoy life! You are probably doing enough around your property and hauling stuff to in and out to burn up a lot of the calories. Enjoy the celebrations while you can and have fun. You can work on healthy stuff during the other days. The scale really isn't a good judge of how healthy we are anyway. It is just a guage, and gives you a mental jolt if you gain too much :)

lulani, I removed the Buddy Request and sent you another, just in case there was some kind of FS Snafu. I appreciate your comments. As far as activity goes, I was really looking forward to getting a lot done before we took off Saturday afternoon, but it looks like it will take most of the morning to climb out of the freezing temps. I'd rather wait for a little warmer weather before I venture up on the ladder. After all, I'm older now.
