Intake with the physical therapist this morning, and I'm looking forward to getting a clear path forward. I clearly overdid it this weekend and I'm paying for it this morning. Took some ibuprofen and threw the arm back in a sling to give it a rest. Seems to be helping. If they tell me I have to immobilize it more, I'll pound my head on the desk in frustration. Of course it's my dominant arm. Remind me to crash on the left side next time.

Woke up too early, drinking too much coffee, and ate a dreadful breakfast, again too early. Banana and a granola bar. Will have to do. The thought of trying to slice bread or try to fix anything more elaborate was just too ouchie.

Tried hopping on the ski machine yesterday, thinking if I just used the feet it would be ok. It wasn't. Just the overall motion of my body was enough to make it hurt. Made it 11 minutes before I stopped and went for a walk, which also hurt, just not as much.

Have regained some mobility, but still can't lift the arm fully. Strength...yeesh. Even trying to pick up a half gallon water pitcher with that hand is a no-go.

Yes, I'm whining.

It's just so frustrating. I had literally JUST started a wee bit of yoga, resistance work, and jogging. Two of the three are impossible now. Yoga... I can look for moves that don't involve the upper body I guess. Food prep is impaired too.

Plus, we're in a workplace fitness challenge and I was rocking it until this happened.

I suppose I should learn patience. In a few hours I'll go to PT and have someone who knows what they're doing assess it and tell me what I can, can't, and should do.

Thanks to those willing to listen to my rant ❤

I'm always up for a good rant, lol. I make plenty of them myself! Sounds like things are pretty rough for you right now. Praying you get better really soon and that there is no lasting impairment from the crash.

Thanks so much, Debbie ❤ I'm hoping no lasting impairment either. Cross country ski season is coming up soon, and I adore being out on the trails. There's no way I could pole uphill like this, and I'm not good enough on the skis to pull it off strictly with my legs. Fingers crossed 🤞 If it looks like a long recovery, I'm going to invest in a pair of snowshoes. I like to play outside in the snow too much to miss out! ❄❄❄

Oh no. I missed this. So sorry. Yeah patience. It can be hard. No worried about whining and ranting. Anything to get through it

And how does the song go ?????? The ? is connected to the ? and the ? is connected to the ? Grrr Do I actually have to show up there to get you to slow it down and heal? (I would require a map of the trails to go skiing while you are healing😆)

Yoga—most moves involve the whole body, if just for balance. I understand the frustration in lifting pitchers; I had tennis elbow once and it hurt to pour coffee ☕️. Let thy body heal, Grrll. And enjoy the PT appointment 😁

I'll bring my own boots 😎 wondering if the airlines will let me bring my poles? 😆

I bet even Wonder Woman would be frustrated if she had your injury! Take it easy and I'll be waiting to hear what the PT says.....

Don't beat yourself up or get frustrated because life happens - just pivot to something you can do while you heal. (Now breathe)

Good news at the physical therapist! It's the rotator cuff, but in all likelihood it's just inflamed, not torn up. She didn't rule out there might be damage, but my strength was good, which makes that outcome less likely. If it doesn't respond to PT in 4-6 weeks, we may have to look at imaging. I don't have to keep it immobilized, which is great news. In fact, she wants me to use it... just be cautious about doing anything that causes pain. (Mercifully, JustBananas, I can lift a coffee cup! Just not a pitcher) And yeah, maybe yoga is a bad idea. I may try doing just the feet on the ski machine again, but go a little slower this time. I'll try to get some walks in, although the weather is terrible right now. What's the saying? There's no bad weather, only bad clothing? I was given some exercises to do at home, so I'll be doing those. All in all, I feel really good about how it went :)

Glad to hear PT went well! Prayers that God will Grant you patience for healing ASAP! I know that was always the toughest part of recovery. "But I know I can do more," isn't the answer they want to hear. Best of Recovery!

Rotator cuff is a big deal. So, where's the closest airport?

Rotator cuff...ouch! Following the PT's advice and doing their home exercises consistently, should have you feeling stronger day by day. "Patience is a virtue🎶" my Mama used to say. You can do this WW!!!👍💙😀

Have faith, LivinBreezy -- I'll take it easy! And thank you, SLYONE, CrystalJo and Morticia :) I know it's going to take a little patience, but I feel really good about the news I got this morning

You have every good reason to whine and rant. When we can't do what we are used to doing is frustrating. Hope you get through all of this very soon!:)
