Draglist's Journal, 17 January 2015

First day of my staying at or under 2000 calories regardless of exercise. Happy with all my macros except the doggone sodium. I can't get away from it! It mostly came from an otherwise exceptional dinner: Salmon - 1079 mg, Mozzarella - 420 mg, Kraft Lite Balsamic - 720 mg. So, nearly 2300 mg, all during a healthy dinner. Hard as hell to stay under 1500 a day. Oh well, will drink a lot of water and tea.

If It Fits Your Macros numbers (macro numbers in grams, rounded):
Today targets: 70 fat, 145 carbs, 200 protein, 40 fiber, <1500 sodium, 2010 cals

Running avg: 87 fat, 179 carbs, 184 protein, 2295 cals (3429 used, 1134 deficit)

Really ? Review the calculation for the salmon in the FS database. It sometimes depends on what you pick. I do not think salmon naturally has 1079 mg of sodium...cheese and salad dressing have the sodium, but check the salmon. Great protein numbers!

Oh - if you use the FS database for "cooked salmon" instead of "baked or broiled" salmon there is a great difference in how the sodium is listed.

Bill I just looked up salmon and it has 114 mg just cooked in a dry heat. I think it depends on the kind of salmon, if it's farm raised or wild caught, how it's cooked, etc. LMAO! You are eating great, so don't worry about the sodium.

GNC has a protein number calculator but yours is off the charts good! As always thanks for the encouragement. We will get there. I know you drink your water but it does help with sodium. I'm like you I love sodium too. Gotta have my pickles or banana peppers on my sandwich.
