Emerald17's Journal, 05 April 2011

Despite the disappointment about the weight I read on the scale this morning, I still worked out today. I burned around the same amount of calories, but in slightly less time. Yay!

Treadmill Workout:
-Intervals of 3, 3.5, an 4 mph
Walked: 3.07 miles (12 laps)
Incline: 5 (all the way through)
Burned:
Calories: 506
Fat Calories: 158
Time: 54min. 38sec. (last minute was a cool down at 2-3mph.)

I feel good (as far as my workout is concerned), but still feeling bad about gaining 1.5lbs since Saturday.

Extra Exercise:

1. Chair Squats: 3 sets of 10
2. Chair Push-ups: 1 set of 7

Decided to do some more walking after dinner (actually, after the kids went to sleep and while my husband was doing his P90X workout). Walked on the treadmill for 25 min. & 36 sec. and did some really good sweating! yay!

Burned:
Calories: 246
Fat Calories: 77
Distance: 1.5 miles (6 laps)
Speed: Alternated b/w 3, 3.5, 4 mph (only did 3mph right after half a
lap going 4mph, and did it for about 20sec.) Most of it was
3.5mph. Pushed to do at least 3-4 half laps going 4mph.
Incline: 5 (all the way through).

It is hard to lose if you are a small person to begin with - hang in there! Exercise does you good even if you don't lose!

Don't let the scale get you down! The biggest challenge is pushing forward through not seeing the results you expected, which you've done today. Congrats on the little victories! :)

Emerald, You are really doing well on your work outs. I might suggest to increase your water intake. The body needs water especially when we are active. Once your body gets in sync you will lose the weight. It just takes time and like you I get frustrated when it isn't right away. Have you done measurements? You usually lose inches then lbs. I bet you are toning up first.
