Fat girl/Skinny girl war!
The Skinny girl in me must play mind games with the fat girl in me to stay on track. It is hard but I keep trying everyday!
I have been on this weight loss journey for what seems like a lifetime. But in the past year I have taken it more seriously because I was in a fight to save my life. I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis and diabetes at the same time. The diabetes is what scared me the mos. As I researched, there seemed to be an overwhelming amount of information that showed a link between diabetes and Sarcoidosis. I decided to fight back by changing my way of thinking and my way of life. Now I am 40 pounds down and working to drop at least another 30 more. What has worked for me: Lots of veggies ( lots of green leafy, steamed or raw) Fruit (lower carbs, berries, pears etc) Protein ( Mainly fish, chicken and turkey) NO - refined sugar, wheat products, starchy veggies ( except sweet potatoes)
150 minutes or more per week of cardio exercise.
I plan to walk/run a half marathon in November. My knees are killing me. But I figure the more battles the skinny girl wins, the closer I get to my goal.
Goal: As close to 20 pounds by August 15 Run 2 miles non stop
