madanjen's Journal, 30 May 2014

After a really good week, at least 5 days of it, I just did not pay attention this week for several reasons. One on the personal level. I've been dating a few people; just casual dinners, walking on the beach, watching TV and eating popcorn (light butter type), working out, riding bikes and the occasional drink. Nothing serious, just hanging out. Well, I have been getting pressure about dating other girls by one of them and it's a bit stressful. I like her but do I just say, I don't want this kind of pressure and say goodbye?

Secondly and much more importantly in my life at the moment, I'm restricting my company basically and haven't gotten the system totally the way I want. I've been working really hard on planning the last 2 months but my goal date to begin is the end of next week and I'm still not quite there.

Maybe these are excuses but I just wasn't focused this week to date. So I told myself, "Don't wait until Monday to weigh yourself." My reasoning is since I know I've done pretty awful this week by past standards, Maybe I gained some weight and it will jolt me out of this mind set. Well, it did but it didn't. I actually didn't gain any weight but lost .2 pounds. This is pretty much nothing but I feel positive about it an it did give me a little lift.

So back to the battles of getting healthy and life in general. Have a great Friday!

Good for you for not waiting until Monday! Dating can be a challenge for sure. I've found that most people are very supportive of weight loss and health improvement. If you were to share that you're on this journey, you'd probably get a lot of support and you might have healthier dinners when you're out, unless you already are. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your support Mrsmole. I get support and eat healthy but one doesn't want me to date others and I'm not ready for that. What I meant to say is that I'm restructuring how I do business, not restricting.

I agree with mrsmole and keep going. You are still doing great!

If you are stressed out about commitment, and that is what she is needing you have to lay that out there. Some people will still lead themselves on even if they accept that you don't want a commitment, so if you are only into casual and not ready for anything else, then it's probably best to not act the part. You can only be friends with a woman in that position, and not friends with benefits or blurring intentions.

I think you made the right choice. No one should feel pressured like that. Restructuring your business sounds like a lot of work and yet you are continuing to lose weight. Great job.

You are doing great. Sounds like you need to have a talk with the one who wants you all to herself when YOU aren't ready for that.

Yep, cut ties now before more feelings are involved and are at risk of getting hurt. You seem to be in the zone of wanting to enjoy the company of ladies but without the pressure of sacrificing time for your goals. Although it rarely happens it’s nice when honesty is present in any type of relationship. Get to it and get back to your plan.

Thanks for the advice from you. I got out of a relationship after trying really hard to cope with insecurities. I sure don't want to start another one like this so Chicalean and the others who said cut ties, that's what I will do. Hope you are all doing good. I had my last meal and snack and still under 1300 calories and I feel stuffed! Sometimes my ex's treat me better than when they weren't. One of my ex's just bought me this box or protein drinks to make shakes. I am doing a varied form of P90X and I will probably use these shakes as a repair my muscles drink. Does anyone use protein shakes after a workout?
