Finally! I feel motivated and excited to begin a new weight loss journey. I just have not been caring at all! I joined dietbet.com for a 6 month competition. E is not thrilled but I can feel the kick in the butt that I needed. First thing he said was "no surprise Awful Awful for you this summer!" Finally, he gets it! LOL

Thursday at the gym, I finally pulled a Damn Jessa:

My mom call upset about a Doc appt. She showed up and because she was 6 minutes late, the doc would not see her. So, as I was taking to her I lost track of time and I missed the beginning of yoga. I was not going to be the rude one & walk in 10 minutes late, so I just opted for the treadmill.

At minute 24, I upped my speed to 3.5 mph and was doing a slow jog that felt amazing! Just amazing! I leaned my head back a little to revel in it and take a deep breath. Got wobbly and lost my balance. I had a YouTube worthy fall. Luckily, my boobs were big enough that I did not treadmill my face,

My arms flailed around & I bounced on my boob and side (bruised outer thigh from knee to hip); bounced again on the same boob (OW!). I twisted my knee and ankle under treadmill and my ankle got a rug burn (treadmill burn?). The girl next to me tried to do that emergency stop for me but missed. She almost fell too. The scary part for me was when I was under the treadmill and trying to push myself up, I almost feel on my face twice. I would have been VERY upset if I treadmilled my face! I got up, fought the urge to cry (why bother since no one was there to hug me ;-) ), finished my 6 minutes at a very slow pace. I had a slight sprain on my ankle. My knee has been a little achy on stairs but the ankle only hurts sometimes now. This is my life of the perpetually klutzy.

It's great you have a sense of humor about your mishap on the treadmill. :) Best wishes on your new start!

You survived my biggest fear, you are a hero among klutzes everywhere. It took a long long long looooong time for me to up my walking pace to jogging pace because I was afraid I would fall. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in the gym that uses the emergency stop thing that you clasp onto your pants or shirt. I'm glad that you didn't get any serious injuries and proud of you for finishing up your walk regardless of the mishap.

That what that clip is for?!?! I am so going to use it if I ever go on a treadmill again! LOL

Sounds like a serious ow-weee! I too am a certified klutz. Blew out both knees doing the MC Hammer (back in the day...long story) and have taken a flight of stairs...twice (and even once going up the stairs. Who does that?) I'm very glad you're not hurt -- we klutzes have a tendency to survive incidences that mere mortals would not -- and amazed that you finished the workout. You are my she-ro!

I fall going up the stairs all the time! I always say Weebles wobble but don't fall down. Or at least get right back up. :-)

Oh my, I am sorry you had fallen, but I love the way you described every detail. I had to laugh, not at you but in how you told the story. I am truly glad you were not hurt more than that. If it were me I would have just left after that, so I must say I am proud of you for following through with your workout.

Oh, Jessa! Weeble-wobbles were my FAVE toy as a kid! I guess it was type of psychosomatic omen of falls to come...I was just enthralled by that little toy that would roll all the way over and POP back up!! LOL

You kicked butt! Even if it was your own. lol Good for you for getting up and finishing out the workout. Hope all the ows go away soon!

Oh no Jessa!!! Well kudos to you for getting up and finishing the workout - hope you don't have any lasting injuries, and yes, be sure to use the emergency clip from now on!!!

What a description! I too come from the world of the perpetually klutzy. I've fallen down stairs in restaurants and movie theaters all over the West, lol. Glad you're alright. I was seriously scared of treadmill falls, so I always stayed really focused. Still, I can remember a couple near-misses. Hope nothing hurts too terribly today.

Jessa, after seeing your post I was motivated and joined the 6 month diet bet today. Thanks for motivating me to make the commitment to stay the course. Here's to accomplishing great things over the next 6 months!

Which on did you join gnat? I did the May 6th to Nov. PS. Already made my 3% and went to the gym this morning. :-)

If you cried and I was there I would hug you. I have that vision of me doing that if I try and jog to far. Bad ankles.

Jessa, I joined the one that started yesterday, too. Just submitted my weigh-in last night. Congrats on on making your 3%! You're a rockstar! I know that 3% is a pretty high bar for me but it will definitely push me, which is kind of the point!

My first weigh in was Mon night, after dinner. I usually weigh myself first thing in the morning. I know what you mean about needing the push. & the push is feeling great!

I'm a part of that klutz group. I even walk into walls - and that's just a normal day, not even exercising. Best of luck to you!

Happy to hear about your motivation back on track! That stinks about the treadmill incident, way to push through!!
