Yesterday I hit over 15,000 steps, My gluten free broiled wings at work for lunch yesterday. I stayed up until midnight to get a bunch of steps in after work. I woke up today in pain. I know there’s a balance, but I also knew today......

I would be stuck behind my littles laptop and my own. It hurt to move this morning. I went from swimming 🏊‍♀️ up to October, when the weather was what they call “ Indian summer”. Since then, it’s been nothing but my long work days and homeschooling. I also woke up 3 lbs heavier, my rings and Fitbit tight. I’m hoping it’s from all the mileage and workouts I did. I have gained weight from 3 consecutive months of steroids, and I got up to 210 😩 a jagged little 💊 to swallow, but not unexpected. It’s been a long time that I have been on prednisone that long. I’m not ashamed at all, it is what it is, and I expect to still get down without the vigorous steps. The getting up early today did not happen. I’m exhausted. We all are. I’m hoping for more steps tomorrow. My rings are swinging again and had to tighten my Fitbit tonight. I’m assuming it was the working out after being sedentary. I have so many questions about “ the zone” with Fitbit. I’m logging between 3 different places and all give me a different RDI. Maybe I should just track my movements with Fitbit and stick with FS for RDI. The difference between steroids before, I wasn’t on them 3 months in a row, let alone my off days, being stuck behind 2 laptops and everything else. So I’m assuming the going from no working out to big obviously made me hurt. Does it explain the gain? The 3 lbs is gone tonight. But I’m not where I was.

Nice work. breaking those pain thresholds to achieve your goals can be tough. but every time you achieve and get back on that horse it builds confidence. Keep it up!

Thank you MeltMyGut, I stayed up late again just to get some more steps in before bed. 7,000 is nothing compared to the last 2 days, but it’s better than 3,000. Im not hurting this morning so yay! Thanks Bill ☺️💜💚

Jc— dont drive yourself nuts obsessing about calories burned and what one device says vs what another says. THEY ARE MACHINES— pick ONE and use it. It’s like all these people here who are buying new scales to get a consistent number. THEY ARE MACHINES. Pick one..

I agree with kenna's advice. Pick something that that may be helping you most. Too easily to get worked up over something that may just be the same thing just looking at it from a different angle. Deep breaths and do you!!!! And PS love seeing your pics again

Thank you Kenna, Petra and liv ❤️ I had to download MyPlate as part of my nutrition course. That course is actually harder than one would think lol!! I passed with a B, but I give myself an F for where I am right now. I even bought the upgrade for MyPlate for a year. Then my new Fitbit is so cool and love the heart rate tracker and the bells and whistles. I think they base it on a deficit already built in? You are all 💯 right. I had zero problem using one, and that was FS. So I’m going to try really hard to track my food on FS only and use Fitbit for activity. It’s hard, I have definitely become obsessed over the 3 platforms and have been overwhelming myself. I’m hoping to start trending down within the next few days because I’m up 2 lbs from yesterday 😩😩😩 I don’t understand what’s wrong. Im tracking everything and if I forget something I add it. 💜💚

The one thing that I hope you have learned from your nutrition classes is that our bodies are miraculous but they are not machines. WE can calculate, speculate, write algorithms all we want but the bottom line is that the body will do what it needs to do to make itself function and keep us alive. We just have to do our part to be it’s partner. I love studying nutrition and about vitamins, minerals etc, and the interplay amongst them— how one element is dependent on another for optimal absorption. It’s fun and fascinating, but then I’m a science nerd and perpetual student. Technology often is a downer because they become too engrossed in the myth, the hype of it all and it becomes an obsession— monitoring, adjusting, comparing. Time consuming and for many people has a negative mental effect.
