Hey all! I'm a 36 year old man from Oregon. I joined fatsecret on 1/11/21. I am an alcoholic and quit drinking alcohol in 12/8/20. With the newfound clarity I decided to focus in on my health and lifestyle. I started doing incline walking on my treadmill and tracking my weigh ins without really thinking about my diet. Like if I just add a little exercise in along with cutting alcohol I should just shrink naturally right? Come on you all know how this goes. I looked into noom and realized it was just and expensive calorie counter, along with a little coaching from an internet spirit. So I looked for free calorie counters and found fatsecret. I had no idea I would have access to such an amazing community of supporting humans that all want to see each other experience success with transforming our relationship with food and weight. I'm so grateful for this community and this calorie counting app. The fact that I've lost five pounds so far and can see the path toward healing my fractured relationship with food reminds me that I've found a good landing spot for core healing. I'm looking forward to where this journey will take me.

I'm with diablo 360x on this. I feel like all this macro nutrient counting is complicating a fart. Our bodies need carbs for general energy, fat for neural and brain health, protein for muscular support. Bottom line is your will lose weight if you commit to a calorie deficit every day.
