Time For a Change Mom's Journal, 07 January 2014

Why do the days seem so much longer when you are 'dieting' aka watching what you eat? I keep hoping that someday I wont be so focused on food. Anyone else had any success with this? I asked a lady at work how she NEVER eats anything bad for her and she said she just envisions what it does to her body. Ok wish that would work for me. But she also is about a size -4!

Dee Dee, I had a revelation about this over Christmas. You are never going to not have to think about what you put in your body it is part of life and survival. It's the obsessing part that you can change. I try every morning to plan my meals for the day. Once written down, I don't have to worry now about it for the rest of the day. If it isn't written down, I don't need it. Does that help?

You are always going to have to watch what you eat, but I do think it will get easier so you don't always think about food. You have to change your thinking and the way you eat to a new way. It will take time. One day at a time.

Good points and Kathy you are right. When my meals are planned it is much better.
