Two days til Thanksgiving...hard to believe. I have been thinking about "managing holiday eating". I had thought I ate pretty much what I wanted (on Thanksgiving & Christmas) last year & that was fine. Then I remembered that last year I was still in weight loss mode during the holidays. I hit my original goal of 155 mid October. I set a new goal of 145 shortly after. I did a little analysis this morning. Nov. 2019 my average day calories was 1364. Dec. 2019 my average was 1714. That includes the higher calorie days. Around Christmas my daughter was here & I had several days I was eating around 2000 or more calories. That means the days I was staying on plan I ate 1200 to 1300 calories. My daily average recently has been 1800 to 2000 calories. That has been working out OK, but it hasn't included any really high calorie ( like 3000 or more) days. My weight last year was:
Nov.1 155.8 lbs.
Dec.1 151.6 lbs.
Jan.1 152. lbs.
I hit my goal of 145 March 2 & have done well maintaining since then....actually I've been under most of the time...around 142 to 143.

So....I need to keep in mind that if I indulge & eat what I want on some days, the days in between may need to be lower calorie than what I've been doing recently. I do weigh myself every morning so I can see if what I'm doing is working. I also know that fluctuations are normal & don't freak out (much 😊).

Hubby & I are still planning to have Thanksgiving Lunch with extended family. This includes my sister, her 2 daughters, their husbands & her oldest daughter's inlaws (4 adults) & 4 younger children. Her sister in law is hosting this year. I asked my sister when we talked yesterday if any outside guests had been invited, cause they sometimes have been in past years. She says it was just family this year. As I commented before, we saw & spent some time with all of these people when my Brother in law passed away. We all are careful when we're out around strangers or even other friends. So, we are gathering...to give Thanks.

Hubby & I have been getting out for afternoon walks, but I haven't been getting a lot of other exercise. I did clean & touch up my kitchen cabinets on Sunday. When I painted them before I did an "antique" border on the inner panels. I decided I'd like a more subtle look so I painted over the original "antiquing". I need to sand a few areas but I like the look better. The cabinets are white.

Oops, thought I'd erased everything I just typed when I layed my phone down to check the washer....doing laundry 😧 So think I'll end it here. Porkchops for dinner.

I need a pictorial tour of your whole home!!! 😁 You are so creative and busy making your world beautiful. I know this is terribly late, but I am glad you could see your beautiful family.

Melissa, I'll post some pics as I decorate for Christmas. All I've done so far is hang 3 wreaths. I'm itching to get at it but, I'm waiting for Hubby to paint the dining room ceiling...he's been prepping today...so soon.
