POWENCH's Journal, 02 January 2009

I am always amazed at how many gyrations my head goes through in a day. I am proud of myself in the morning during the workout. I know I am doing the right things, both diet and exercise-wise, even though I make all the normal exceptions to my diet. I live in the real world and I try to make my life reflect that reality.

The problem is by mid afternoon, I have looked in the mirror 400 times and pinched my fat hips about 200 and end up getting really discouraged that I will never get to my goal weight, measurements and fitness level. Normally that is when I am glad I don't have a lot of food in the house..so I can drowned my depression in something that will actually ruin any chance I have to make my goals. However, it is post holidays and the house still has a ton of food laying around. I have frozen everything that it is possible to freeze and the plan is to take everything else to work, where my skinny co-workers can get that last holiday sugar buzz.

So until Monday I get to really test my will power. Putting it away where I can't see it, has helped...but the brain knows its in that pantry. Will power has to prevail. Some days it will work and I know some it won't, either way I have to get the morning talking head to work something out with the afternoon talking head. I want to beat the negative mantra and replace with one more positive all day long.
