So I was looking at Atkins Induction Phase...I heard that is about the same as hCG phase 4. It looks easy...I mean super easy....I can have at least 1000 calories (that is a ton of food)...and so many choices. I read about Atkins people bitching cause the induction phase is so hard...WTF...try one week of hcG and get back to me. I can't have anything but chicken, some beef, and a little seafood...the veggies options are even smaller. And no oil...to include skin care products?? I can't wait to get to Phase 4...I'm going to eat the hell out of some avocados with tuna, enjoy using olive oil to cook things, and I love almonds. Of course I disagree with Atkins Fat intake...I can understand, nuts, avocados, oils, but other stuff like fatty meats and cheese...yeah I"m going to stay away from that. Don't get me wrong I will add a little cheese to my meals here and there, but let's not go crazy. I still want my fat to be in a reasonable level. OHHHH I CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO PHASE 4...BRING IT ON!!

Smartin, I've been reading your journal for the past five days and frankly it scares me. I completely understand the frustration of trying to lose weight and being successful for awhile and then gaining it all back, but I simply cannot be convinced that dropping to 500 calories a day is anything but dangerous to your health. It is impossible to function at this level without breaking down and loosing lean muscle as well as fat. I fully support your efforts to get your weight under control, but please, be careful

This isn't a do it myself diet...I have an MD that monitors my health. And as for losing muscle that was my first question...I was very worried. The Dr said you don't lose muscle because your body is burning fat (ketosis). I've also read several blogs from people who have done it and have lost the fat and kept their muscle. I'm not as worried about lbs as I am about inches. I like being fit as well as skinnier. I just have to limit my exercise during this phase to 30 mins on a bike or 20 mins on a treadmill. Once I'm off I am encouraged to increase my exercise and eat healthy. The weight is coming off...about 1 lb a day...which is fast. But I still wish I would have gone down the slower route (which really isn't much slower than this for me)...
