Post 4000 cal surplus day report. Well, I can honestly say this surplus day has topped all the others with regards to flavor and enjoyment. Ya got to love Thai Food! It was "next level" wonderful and the folks at the restaurant were so thankful for our huge order. Actually, all the restaurants we've done take out at have been thankful, which is in part why I'm glad we do these surplus days.

The little trick of ensuring more carbs than protein on this day did a wonderful job of ensuring I was able to ingest over 4000 cals, but not feel so full I was sick. It also really kicked my metabolism into gear. The heart rate was in "fat-burn" zone on the fitbit for a good portion of the night.

I have one of those bodies that burns through carbs very, very quickly. I don't know if it's genetics or what the reason may be. But, this is in large part why I don't do cereals, granola bars, or toast & fruit for breakfast. And, during the week I eat dinner for breakfast. I eat a bowl of cereal (no matter how fibrous or healthy) and this stomach is literally gnawing with hunger pains 15 minutes later. Nuts like almonds or walnuts might last 30 minutes.

And, when specify "hunger pains", I'm talking the kind where you feel the stomach acid churn in your tummy and it hurts because there's no food left in there. Had I known better when I was younger, I would have ditched breakfast foods for a dinner plate a long time ago.

In short, this stomach likes and thrives off of bulk and density even more so than taste. And, understanding that folks has been a game changer when it came to releasing the excess weight.

However, for the purposes of ensuring I was able to ingest 4000 cals this time without it being so painful, LOL - a coworker suggested couching in more calorie dense carbs. I did have have a substantial amount of protein yesterday, but to be sure the carbs were reigning king. Not hard to do with Thai food.

Rice and noodle dishes burn through this stomach in about 45 minutes. The bulk of what left me full were all the wonderful veggies added in with our orders. And, I love fiberous and starchy veggies!!! And, of course shrimp and prawn are such a light lean meat. So, I was full this time around, but I didn't have to jump up and down to get the food moving - LOL. It was very doable and delicious to boot!

I want to reiterate that there is nothing magical about having these surplus days at this weight range. As some have already stated, they fuel a large amount of activity. And, even with that said - they don't even fuel all of it.

When swimming is added to the mix in the summertime - this body will burn up to 2000 plus cals in exercise activity alone between a Friday and a Sunday. Fitbit actually clocks it at 2350 cals and it's pulling from my heart rate. I'm actually knocking off a few hundred cals for error ratio.

Soooo, that is why this 112 lbs girl does these surplus days...And, no - I don't think anyone has to be this active to be fit nor do they need to in order to be healthy. I am simply pursuing my bliss and movement is how life dances through me at this point in life. The MS just reminds me not to take these moments for granted.

And, yes there will be calorie readjustments when fall and winter arrive and the activity lessons. Although, I'm approaching things a little different this fall but will clarify when the time comes. Right now, I just want to enjoy the last weeks of summer :-)

Alright...enough of this blabbering! It's time see what the post surplus weigh in is (it could be substantial - there's a lot of sodium in Thai food).

And, the verdict is...drumroll - 117.6 lbs. Ironically less than last time. So, perhaps Indian food has more sodium than Thai? I can believe it. Anyhow, I'll do my typical weigh in tomorrow and Monday as well.

Have a beautifully joyful weekend, everyone! And, don't ever forget to remember above all, when everything is said and done "PURSUE YOUR BLISS"- Joy is the order of the universe...in all things let happiness be inevitable.

Thank you, Melissa! Will do! This body keeps me a humble student everyday :-)Elizabeth - I lift weights and do strength training, surplus days are often an essential part of increasing muscle mass at this point, but they also taste really good, too! :-)
