Danana's Journal, 01 July 2020

I have made unwise eating choices today, both in the type and amount of food. I would like to blame my husband for buying junk food that was not on the grocery list, but the truth is it was MY decision to partake of said food in unhealthy amounts. I am turning this around right now and will eat a small, nutritious dinner, take an extra walk, and drink lots of water. I am not letting this derail my desire to reach my goal, which is taking a long time. Since I threw hubby under the bus for the junk food, I will mention that yesterday he bought me a weight set so I can have some heavier weights since I won't be going back to the gym anytime soon, if ever. He's a good guy.

I think we all will have ups and downs. The important thing is you just keep going. We can’t change the past but we sure can our future!! Good luck.

My mantra through all of this is to make your main focus NOT GAINING weight. These are difficult times. Few people outside the medical field had any idea how long this pandemic could and would last. We are all feeling that heightened anxiety, boredom and isolation. Be honest with yourself and do your best to maintain your losses. That alone for many is a win. Milkine8 welcome. Sometimes FS does seem a little like FB but many here have been committed to their healthier lifestyle journey for a long time and are really positive influences on the group. JC mamma is one of our medical heroes. She has been on the front lines for a long time. She and her husband have worked really hard. She struggles with her weight like most here. Most of us are eager to see how some of our “friends” are coping and dealing with this thing that is impacting their lives so greatly. Please don’t think JC in particular is bragging. She isn’t, She is surviving this pool will give her good exercise and some mental relief fro what she is dealing with. Please feel free to share how you are coping, your insight may help someone else. Again, welcome.

Thanks, Kenna! I am not being hard on myself, just recording to keep myself accountable. Despite these stressful times, I am in a good position and have no reason to complain or feel anxiety. My job is stable, my family is healthy and gets along, my elderly parents are well.... I could go on. There is no reason for me to stress eat. I have tremendous empathy for those who are less fortunate than I. That does tend to weigh on me so maybe there’s more stress than I am willing to acknowledge. I really appreciate everyone’s support. I know that my journey is long and that I must be consistent and patient, yes realistic. Thank goodness I love to exercise!
