Sam Loves Ernie's Journal, 13 August 2013

Been hitting the gym pretty regularly for the last month since I joined. Doing my 30 min of cardio and my 3x's circuit on the weight machines like my trainer showed me. Still no results!!! Seems like I should at least feel my clothes fitting a litter better or something. I'm not that fat!!! So I'm thinking that a change is looming around the corner maybe. Hoping to be a size or two smaller by this time next month. Have a party to go to at the coast. Something to look forward to. I am going to party. Party, party, party. Gonna get my drinkin' hat on and enjoy myself and while were there check out some local seafood. YUMMY :)

There is a saying. You lose weight in the kitchen and get fit at the gym. Yes, exercise burns calories, helps build lean muscle is great for our health, but if you don't have the diet part down, it may not help that much. Maybe your caloric intake is too high. Try a week of 1800 a day and see what happens. Focus on lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies. Protein and high fibers foods fill us up and help us lose fat the best. You may need to play around with the calories till you find what helps you lose.

The trainer said I'd most likely loose fat but gain muscle the first few weeks and will see no difference. As far as my calories . I'm like 10 times more active now and eating waaay less than I was while maintaining my overweight self. I'm going to give it a couple more weeks at the gym to see if the added muscle starts to do it's work. But thank you for your input. The calorie intake is less than it used to be and when I've made a couple months of the gym into a habit my next step is to adjust the calories again. :)
