Cheeks's Journal, 17 September 2008

Yesterday was not a good eating day for me. We met up with a friend from work who just had a baby, and she was craving Mexican food. I thought I did well, until I calculated everything into FatSecret, I found I was already at 19 points for the day! (I'm only allowed 21 right now). So I said "screw it", and ate over my points because I was frustrated with myself.

I'm back on track this morning at least, and plan to eat within my points today...although its hard because this is hubby's school night. So instead of watching TV, and munching, I think I'm going to do some much needed scrapbooking to keep my hands, and mind busy! I love scrapbooking :)

We're only human, cheeks. That's one thing I don't like about eating out...not sure how many calories I'm consuming and if alcohol is in the mix...it ALL gots to pot! LOL. It's okay. You've brushed yourself off. Stay focused on today. You have a great game plan for tonight. Stick w/it. Have a plan B just in case. ;)

I'm glad you had fun going out! Sometime you might try the "damage control" plan instead of the "screw it" plan when that happens. Have a list (or in your head) of low point but filling foods (salad, a big plate of spaghetti (made of spaghetti squash of course!), etc. That way you'll be able to get back on track for a loss a lot quicker.

Hobbies and keeping hands busy, is really key. Good for you for making a plan of alternate attack! Dust off, chin up and back to good eating today. One slip up / bad day of eating will not ruin ya! ;) Mexican is hard to eat well with, especially eating out. One bite at a time! Planning ahead, will make the coming days that much easier. :)

Don't worry about yesterday. You had fun, you tried to eat well, AND you have your flex points... Have fun scrapbooking tonight-- that will keep your hands and mind busy! :)

Great idea to find a different activity to keep yourself from munching. We all have those "screw it" days. They're part and parcel of this journey. Roll with the punches and keep on fightin' back!

You're doing so well! Think about how much your lifestyle has changed since you started this journey! Don't beat yourself up! I keep reminding myself: It's a marathon, not a sprit (I think you told me that :) BTW--Aaron says thanks for your message. We will have to catch up soon!

Don't kick yourself too hard - a good dinner out with a friend now and again is important too and probably very well deserved! You are fine...you're back on track and digging into a favorite hobby! Keep on truckin' and keep up the fantastic job!
