Yesterday was awesome, against which today just couldn't measure up! Anyhow, not a total dud, though.

It has been an emotional rollercoaster, with the first meeting of the day with my department head, and I learned about a disturbing attempt by my colleague to sabotage my tenure process. One meeting led to another, and more than half the day went in the unproductive, draining, political high-drama! Anyhow, I tried to keep my spirits up, my calories and carbs down, and water intake flowing.

Caffeine was my best friend today. That an another colleague who emphatically outlined all the ways I was valuable to the department and the university, and that she'd rally everyone for me if need be! I was touched...but still can't help but worry about what stress, drama, and work the next 1.5 years are going to bring! Oh well! One bridge at a time.

Meals and working out has been fine. I did only 30 mins of elliptical, but bumped up the level to 8 and 9, and the rpm as well; as a result burned 330 K. It was already 8 pm, so I decided to quit past that, and come upstairs and prepare dinner.

Dinner (plus tomorrow's lunch) is my lemongrass tofu stir fry. Oh, and didn't have time to make an omelette this morning, so just grabbed an Atkins bar (delish!) and a cheese wedge to go, and had that with a bottle of water in the car. Lunch was yesterday's mock chicken stir fry. I tried to have a couple of snacks at some intervals and tried to keep my points up to build up to atleast 22, which has been a little difficult to come up to in the last 2-3 days. Eating sensibly is so filling, and so points-thin!

Here're the meal points:
1 atkins choco granola bar (4 pts; 3 carbs)
1 laughing cow cheese wedge (1 pt; 0 carb)
Mock chicken stir fry, salad, and 1 veggie patty (4 pts; minimal carbs)
1 laughing cow cheese (1 pt; 0 carb)
preworkout snack: almonds (3 pts; 2-3 carbs?)
Post workout: protein supplement (1 pt), and soy milk (0.5)
1 smoked gouda cheese (2 pts)
Dinner: Lemongrass tofu stir fry (lemongrass, thai chiili, scallions, tofu, mushrooms, green peppers, almonds, sriracha+soy sauce, sesame oil, fresh basil) (3.5 pts)

Total: 20 pts (and so full! can't eat anymore!)

Oh, this morning, weight moved down a little more...three days of continuous loss!! I hope and pray this cycle continues!!

I'm sorry the work politics are trying to drag you down. But you rose above it all and did your amazing exercise! I just love when you talk about your healthy food. It sounds SO good! Looking forward to day 4 of the downward trend!

All that drama has got to be tough to deal with but I'd say you got through the day with flying colors. You exercised, you ate great. Bravo, my dear! As per your advice, I am examining the carbs in my diet and going to make an effort to cut the simple carbs to a minimum and bump up the fiber and protein. Keep up the fabulous job!

Kudos on getting that scale to move down! You are ROCKIN' IT, girl! I LOVE the Atkins Bars. The peanut butter chocolate bar is bigger than the others and is only 2 net carbs for the whole bar. I like it in the morning with coffee. YUMMY! And as far as the politics at work, your performance should speak for itself. And I hope karma kicks that nasty colleague in the BUTT!!!!!!
