157.2. Weight's s.l.o.w.l.y creeping down...but at least it's in the right direction! July 13th--that's the day I was magically shown 156.4, and FS changed it's color on me...and poof! the next day it was GONE! Just like that! And it's been up and down for 1.5 months, but still not as down as that one fateful day.
Well, today was FAST and FURIOUS!! I had about 4 hours of sleep from last night, and an early start this morning. Classes started today, and I have an intense semester with 3 classes and all the research stuff to deal with, publications, grant-writing---and the HORRID tenure process. That's what this semester holds---no respite in sight. But that's ok. I like the pace--crazy as it may be...I always find I'm more productive in my busiest, stressed out times...and get antsy in my relaxed times. So anyway, I had 6 hours of teaching, 2 hours of research and administrative meetings, interspersed with lots of situating-frantic, stressed-out students times...all of this in the 8 hour day..so, of course, I was doubling up tasks, and keep my wheels spinning trying to multitask and juggle. But I am also very PROUD of myself for sticking to my health plan for the day and not let the frantic pace unravel everything like before...I managed to spare a few minutes eatin my cereal at home, take another 2-3 minutes and scarf down my homemade lunch of quinoa, and managed to keep drinking water and taking bathroom breaks at intervals. My body's needs are not going to be put on the back-burner and kowtow to demands of everyone else!!!
On top of all this, I leave for California tomorrow morning, and it's past midnight and I have yet to pack. I still had to do some last minute shopping this evening, but was starving, so stopped by at subway, and had plenty of points to spare but resisted having anythin more than a 6 inch veggie sub and a side of an apple. At the other store I almost bought an egg and cheese sandwich, but decided I ddint really need it. Same deal with inviting dark chocolates.
Instead,I came home, changed and went down to do my running at 11 am!! My legs were a little tired before hand, but I made myself go (thank god for these challenges!)...and it was good. I went longer and faster today...still an incline of 4, and run intervals of 1 min each (total 8 mins) at 4.6-4.7 mph, and my walking was also faster at 3.5 mph...burned 250K and 1.90 miles--so a slight upgrade from yesterday. Oh, and I did it to the accompaniment of the cs5k proram on my ipod---the music and the pep-talk is great! I will be sure to continue using this. (Thanks, Evelyn!!)
Came home and drank my protein mix and soy milk, and ate a wedge of light laughing cow cheese with a wasa cracker...so am just about approaching 22 pts...I want to make sure I don't eat under-points. But this was late-night eating, which would be normally bad, but I rationalize that I am goin to be pullin an all-nighter tonight, so the late-night eating won't be bad...
Meals and points: Kashi cereal and light soy milk (3) quinoa with tomato rice paste and walnuts (4) coffee with cream (1) subway on whole wheat, american cheese, and honey mustard and chipotle sauce (6-7 pts) apple (1-2 pts) almonds (2) protein mix and milk (2) wasa cracker and lc. cheese (1.5)
