Day 470- So I hit my goal weight loss yesterday. It came after 2 days of flushing my system with a ton of water and logging my food intake.

Kind of a funny story, but more sad about population: So after losing 65+ lbs, I have gone from a size xxl shirt to a small and my pants went from a 36/37 waist to a 29/30 waist. Well I went out trying to buy shorts for this weekend today, and had a hard time finding shorts in a 30 or smaller waist. I went to 3 HIGHEND department stores and the smallest they stocked was a 32, at the 3rd one I finally asked the clerk why can't I find a name brand pair of short in a 30 and he told me they don't sell so most manufactures stopped making them, he also told me I would probably have to shop their 'young men's' section to find slimmer fitting shorts. (I don't like the style of young men's cloths right now, and I need shorts I can wear for work!) So basically the high end stores have changed their standards and sell cloths for larger folks? That is one of the reasons I started this journey was because I could not find xxl shirts that fit and looked good on me......

I am going to try to log my food again for a while as the type of food I am eating has changed greatly from when I was logging on a regular basis. I am more concerned that I am not eating enough and on the flip side I go on a binge and eat to much for a few days. My diet it mainly fruits and veggies now. The only meat I have been eating is fish and chicken with pork about once a week and not much. With all the veggies I wonder if I am getting enough cals? I also find that I do not get that full feeling as much. After tracking for the few days, I can already see/feel where I need to tune things up. I need to get more of these ideas into my journal.

Like I said in my last entry, I am going to my 20th year class reunion tomorrow. I was really looking forward to it, but as it got closer, I am getting more and more worked up over it. The whole 'status', 'being compared', 'not one of the in crowd' crap is coming back. I went to a very prestigious private boarding school. Lot's of my classmates came from families that you would know the names pretty well. You see some of my classmates work every night on TV and on and on... I had these issues before I went to this school, so it is not the school that did it. Actually the school does a great job of making everyone feel equal, one of the reasons so many famous folks send their kids there. My son is a Jr. there right now and is doing great and is in the 'in crowd', he has always been a social bee, something I never was. It should be interesting......

I am also running a 5K tomorrow morning, it is going to be a small race. I hope I can set a new PR without having a lot of runners there, I don't do well in smaller races, but I have a plan this time with my GPS tracking to help me stay on pace. I feel great today and ready to run. I got in all my training sessions and got 2 full days of rest before this race. I am currently doing a 5K every 2 weeks. Some would say that is too much, but until I see where I am going backwards on my times, I am plan on keeping it up. My goal is to be sub 20 mins by the end of the year. I am gaining 15-30 sec per race on that goal. I am placing in my age group in most races. (Sorry, the competitive side is coming out in me :-), I found I need this, LOL) My wife is starting to think I am a freak about my running, I will save that topic for another journal entry also.......

The only way to move forward is to put one foot in front of the other.

Wow! That really IS a testament to how the world has changed and not for the better! Good luck finding some shorts that fit the order. Great job on hitting your loss goal! I went to my 10 yr reunion, but skipped the 20th. I'm sure you'll have a great time once you get there! Have a great weekend!

congratulations! too crazy about the clothes. I see that a lot. especially in Wal-Mart lol, their small is a large ha. when I was thin, I had to do some teen shopping. not so bad. you could maybe look at the teen stores in the mall or online. hope your reunion goes well, I went to a hs like that and was not one the"in" crowd. go figure, hey I'm cool, so are you lol. one for at a time, glass you logged your food and write able to see areas for improvement, I just love Yahoo's site, . as long as your enjoying running and not injuring yourself, go for it, were only young once :-)

I understand the clothes thing too. I couldn't find yoga pants or cotton shorts that fit me well. Until I started shopping in the little girls section. So I now buy my bras and shorts there. Haven't tried tops yet. Sad thing is when I was this size 10 years ago I never could fit the girls clothes. So what does that say about what manufacturers are doing.
