Kenna Morton's Journal, 26 November 2019

Dinner tonight was provided for me by a friend who makes the best chicken noodle soup I have ever had. Seriously delicious. I had 12 oz of soup and a slice of homemade bread made with Guinness extra Stout. Easy, and delicious and it went wonderful with the soup. After driving back and forth to San Diego (4 1/2 hours) it hit the spot. She texted me to call when I got home and she would bring dinner.

It was good. I was tired and hungry. That drive is always interesting though. The ocean was gorgeous. They are dismantling the San Onofre nuclear power facility so it’s interesting to see the progress. I also drive by Camp Pendleton Marine training base. They were conducting helicopter training of some type. Several different types. One was the Blackhawk, I think. It is such an impressive thing. There were also 3 or 4 good size flying things that had to have been some type of drone. I would loved to have stopped and watched for a while. I just plugged in my music and enjoyed the trip.

Kenna glad you enjoyed the trip, don't the hunger get to you! Do you live by the sea? I am against Nuclear to tempting to use as bombs. You into military/army/navy? It is my spaceship flying in the Sky! What sort of music do you like?

Sounds like a beautiful trip! What a wonderful friend bringing you a tasty and healthy dinner! Reminds me I need to take my neighbor soup next time I make some.

Chestnut— I live inAnaheim, California just 30 miles from the ocean and just a few miles from Disneyland. I am a huge ocean person and spend a lot of time there walking or hiking in the hills above the ocean. I am a huge military supporter. I wasn’t in the military myself but lost many friends to the Vietnam war and spent a little time there myself during the war. Music is life. I like everything buy rap. I’m your basic classic hard rocker, but also like jazz, 1940{s music, some classical and even a little operatic music. Almost anything. I’m retired so I go to school (perpetual student), do some volunteer work and swim 2 hours almost everyday—- and cook. I love to eat so I cook and bake.

Kenna thank you for your reply, I am sorry if I caused any offence reference Nuclear. I live two miles from the coast and like to walk into town to see it, when dry I will walk along the seafront (wet today). Disneyland you a big kid at heart? Music is so good to listen to, rap not my scene either not into gangsters or violence, Classic rock Queen or harder? I like the song Barcelona (Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe). In my youth was a Pink Floyd fan. Have a good day.

Chestnut— no offense taken at all. I have seen Pink Floyd several times, Hendrix, the Stones at least 5 times, almost all of the big groups from that period of time. That is still my music of choice. When and if my housekeeper gets me to participate, that is my motivational music.. I Spent some time living in a little hippie town north of San Francisco where Van Morrison used to come and hang out with us and regroup his inner peace. Really awesome fun times. Cherish them greatly

Kenna your a real rock chick, swinging sixties you remember them! They say if you remember them you weren't there! Van Morrison silly man should have married you instead off Janet Rigsbee.

Chestnut I do remember the sixties well. I smoked a little pot, not much really, not like others but I was a nursing student and/or a nurse at the time and valued my license. Those were the days when pot was a federal offense and you went to jail. Being a nurse is how I ended up doing a stint in Vietnam Nam.

Kenna I would be careful mentioning pot on FS when I made a casual remark about it I was accused of being a fat drunken crackhead. Nurse are not appreciated enough should be paid alot more they are lifesavers. Almost always the first port of call for invaluable advice and guidance, you are a hero going out to Nam to look after your boys a modern day Florence Nightingale
